Another academic year down! โœจ

This academic year will not be complete without the achievements of our science enthusiasts from Grade 7 to Grade 12.

Everyone knows that studying is like a rollercoaster ride, it is filled with several challenges but of course, there are still moments worth celebrating. We hope that every moment helps you grow and move forward. As we continue our journey, may we not forget the lessons taught to us and continue to pursue our goals. This is both an end and a start of another path, we wish you nothing but success in whatever path you wish to take. We hope that every step would be filled not only with challenges, but also moments to cherish. Once again, congratulations!

: Why Does the Moon Change Its Shape?

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wonder, why the Moon seems to change its shape? Sometimes itโ€™s a thin crescent, sometimes a glowing half, and other times a bright full circle. Surprisingly, the Moon itself never changes shape โ€” it is and was always round. What changes is the part of the Moon we can see from Earth. The Moon does not make its own light. It shines because it reflects light from the Sun. As the Moon travels around the Earth, the angle between the Sun, the Moon, and our planet changes. Because of this, we see different portions of the Moonโ€™s sunlit side. These changing views are called phases of the Moon. Including new moon, crescent, quarter, gibbous, and full moon.

When the Moon is between the Earth and the Sun, the bright side faces away from us, making it almost invisible (new moon). When Earth is between the Moon and the Sun, the entire bright side faces us, giving us a beautiful full moon. Every phase in between is simply a different amount of sunlight reaching the Moonโ€™s surface that we can see from Earth. That's why scientist always fine a new type, shape and color of the moon.

This natural cycle repeats every month, reminding us that even familiar things in the sky are part of an amazing cosmic dance.

On January 27, 2026, the Science Department proudly hosted the Preliminary Round of ECO-STAR 2026. As each star made their way to the stage, they showcased their unique eco-bags, a perfect blend of futuristic designs. The spotlight shone brightly on them, illuminating not just their talent and confidence, but their vision for a futuristic world.

Let us all witness the stars with our eyesโ€”let there be lightโ€”as we see them shine in the final round.

All of them are stars, but the question remains: who will shine the brightest?
