DEPED VISIT NA, STUDENT HANDBOOK MEETING PA

Kaninang umaga ay bumisita sina Mr. Andy Pergis at Ms. Fatima Villanueva ng Department of Education upang kumustahin ang pagpapatupad ng mga inilabas na memo ukol sa Anti-Bullying Policy, Child Protection Committee, laman ng Student Handbook ayon sa RA 10627, atbp.

Sumilip din ang mga bisita sa nagkataong meeting ng komite na nag-rerebisa ng Student Handbook.

STAR SHED SPONSORSHIP STILL OPEN

The Star Shed Project of Midwest alumni initiated by Batch 1996 is still accepting pledges from the different batches, individuals or groups of alumni.

This is one of the bigger projects of the alumni community that need a lot of support. When you sponsor a Star Shed, you are not only helping current students but also future alumni to have a safe space to study or eat.

Target date of completion is October 2026.

PARA KANINO KAMI GUMIGISING?

Para sa mga estudyante at magulang, siyempre. Ang pagbibigay-dunong at pagpapabago ng buhay ng bawat Midwestinian ay nakatatak na sa bawat isip at puso ng g**o at lahat ng staff ng MMC.

Kaya naman ang magagandang resulta gaya nang nabanggit dito ay aming pinahahalagahan. Kumbaga, ito po ang aming pampagising bawat araw.

PARTNERING WITH PARENTS TO KEEP STUDENTS IN SCHOOL

Absenteeism and tardiness deprive students of valuable learning opportunities in school. The longer they are late or absent, the more impact it has on their education.

In a collective effort to nip these concerns in the bud, School Principal Helen Lineses; School Registrar Geroma Manahan Lacdao; Grievance Committee Officer Willa P. Maglalang and Senior High School Coordinator Althea Serdena met with Grade 11 and 12 parents and students on July 22 at the Function Hall.

Topics included the importance of being in school; how absences affect tuition fee subsidies; how conduct can jeopardize final grade; and the value of prioritizing education to change one's situation in life.

Everybody agreed to work on ensuring students go to school regularly.

A SHORT GRATITUDE STORY

On July 21, we received a message that said someone had left a smartphone in their store. Details and photos of the phone and its whereabouts were also sent to us. We then shared the info with the school's group chat.

A few minutes later, the same person who reported the missing phone got back to us and said it had been claimed.

This may not be a big deal for some people but imagine how it was for a young student who have misplaced a phone (!). It's probably like the end of the world for the student.

So for someone to reach out and help
another is a big deal for us, especially in this time of apathy.

We are thankful for individuals like the store owner who made the world a better place for a student yesterday.

Ito ang buod ng mensahe ni Mrs. Joanna Sapungan - Sto. Domingo na ipinahatid niya sa ating school.

Sa isang post niya sy pinuri niya ang sistema na nakakatulong sa magulang at g**o na mag-monitor sa pagpasok at paglabas ng mga estudyante.

Sabi niya, ito ay isang patunay na may malasakit ang school sa mga bata.

RELATING TO OTHERS AND DISCUSSING THINGS WITH THEM BUILD CONFIDENCE AND RESILIENT

Things can look overwhelming if we bottle up emotions and nasty thoughts. But if we let them out or consult a trusted person about those feelings and thoughts, we will realize how brave we can be to look for options.

In the age of overstimulation and human disconnection, the need to reach out becomes more important.

Hindi tayo nag-iisa.

CONFIDENCE AND RESILIENCE UNLOCKED!

After a day's workshop full of group exercises and drills, freshies and transferees take home practical tips to apply moving forward.

Our school is deeply grateful to Dr. Rosalyn Janda Dasco for her customized workshop which effectively surfaced the needs of college freshies and transferees.

HR Officer Ms. Jamie Rose Mendoza (not in photo) delivered the welcome remarks.

MARCHING TO PERFECTION

Not a minute is wasted by the members of Midwest Marching Band to improve their moves. Even on a Saturday, they show up to rehearse, this time led by Midwest Scouts Genebert Venson and Joseph Race.
