Nagsagawa ang Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) ng kauna-unahang "Consultation at Dialogue" kasama ang mga region-based student council leaders mula sa mga Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) na layunin palakasin ang mga boses, alamin ang mga pangangailangan, at rekomendasyon ng mga mag-aaral, via Zoom Meetings, ngayon, August 25, 2026.

Tinalakay rin sa meeting ang concerns patungkol sa scholarships at mga policies na nakatutulong sa mga organisasyon na pang-mag-aaral.

Nakiisa naman ang President ng Supreme Student Council, Jezrel Alyssa Campana, at ang Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (VPSAS), Jhon Kenneth San Jose, ng Gapan City College (GCC) na ibahagi ang kanilang concerns at insights.

Ayon kay Dr. Lyra Anne Lopez-Padrid,
Education Supervisor II, SAS Focal Person CHED Regional Office III, ang mga ibinahaging concerns ng mga dumalo ay inaasahang mabibigyan ng tugon.

"So, we cannot fix a problem if we do not know that it exists... Because of this awareness, all of the issues we discussed today, we are hoping as a commision we can be able to help you." Aniya.

Ang programa ay alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 7722 o Higher Education Act of 1994 na nag-uutos sa CHED na isulong ang dekalidad na edukasyon at protektahan ang karapatan at kapakanan ng mga mag-aaral.

Bukod pa dito, nakabase din ito sa Memorandum from the Office of the Chairperson No. 350, s. 2026 na may titulong "Conduct of Consultation and Dialogue of CHED Regional Offices with Region-Based Student Council Leaders."

Samantala, ang nasabing programa ay inaasahan na isasagawa isang beses sa isang quarter ng taon.

Sa gitna ng sunod-sunod na suspensyon ng klase dahil sa mga bagyo at habagat, mahalagang tandaan: kaligtasan muna, ngunit hindi kailangang huminto ang pagkatuto.

Sa ganitong panahon, mahalagang maging handaโ€”hindi lamang sa posibilidad ng pagkansela o pagbabago ng ating mga klase, kundi higit sa lahat, sa anumang panganib na maaaring dumating. Alamin ang mga numero na maaaring tawagan, ihanda ang go bag, at siguraduhing alam kung saan maaaring humingi ng tulong sa oras ng pangangailangan.

Kung suspendido ang mga klase, manatiling updated sa opisyal na mga anunsyo ng paaralan at lokal na pamahalaan, at sundin ang mga itinakdang alternatibong paraan ng pagkatuto kung mayroon.

Sa panahon ng kalamidad, bawat segundo ay mahalaga, at bawat paghahanda ay maaaring makatulong upang mailigtas ang buhay. Ang pagiging handa ay hindi lamang responsibilidad ng isang indibidwalโ€”ito ay bahagi ng sama-samang pagkilos ng isang ligtas at matatag na komunidad.
