Barkada Kontra Droga - Sta. Cruz National High School

As part of the advocacy to promote a clean, safe, and drug-free school community, the Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) officers of Sta. Cruz National High School (SCNHS) conducted a Clean-Up Drive on January 27.

Led by the BKD Coordinator, Ma’am Evangeline Gutierrez, BKD Advisers Ma’am Hazel Anne Maniquiz and Sir Jayson Valdez, and BKD President Alliana Khate Catacutan, the BKD officers and several volunteers joined together to clean up various parts of the school, giving way to showing concern for the environment.

The activity aims to promote the importance of environmental responsibility, and discipline and to inspire youth in making a safe and cleaner community for all.

BKD conducts drug awareness seminar

To raise awareness and equip students with knowledge about the dangers of illegal drugs, the Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) officers of Sta. Cruz National High School (SCNHS) conducted a Drug Awareness Seminar on November 27.

The activity was organized through the effort of Mrs. Evangeline M. Gutierrez, Head
Teacher III/BKD Coordinator, and Alliana Khate Catacutan, BKD President, together with the officers of the organization.

Entitled "ALAB: Adbokasiya LABan sa Ilegal na Droga," the seminar covered crucial topics such as the physical and psychological effects of illegal drugs, salient provisions of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), and the proper protocol for students caught violating the law.

Magandang buhay, mabuting tao, Cruzians!

ANG PAARALAN AY LUGAR NG KAALAMAN, HINDI NG USOK NA SUMISIRA SA KALUSUGAN.

Ang Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) kasama ang Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) President sa pangunguna ng ating butihing BKD Coordinator, Ma’am Evangeline Gutierrez at BKD Advisers Ma’am Hazel Anne Maniquiz at Sir Jayson Valdez, ay nagsagawa ng pagpapaskil ng mga “NO SMOKING, NO VAPING” tarpaulins sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng ating paaralan, nitong Agosto 19.

Ito’y nagpapaalala sa lahat na mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang paggamit at pagdadala ng v**e at sigarilyo sa ating paaralan. Layunin nito na maging gabay at mapanatili ang kaligtasan ng bawat mag-aaral at mailayo sila mula sa mga bisyong makaaapekto sa kanilang kalusugan.

Hinihiling namin ang taos-pusong kooperasyon ng bawat mag-aaral at g**o upang mas maging masigla, ligtas at maayos ang ating paaralan.

Ang pag-iwas sa paggamit ng v**e ay isang mahalagang hakbang tungo sa isang buhay na malusog at produktibo. Hindi lamang ito nakakaprotekta sa ating mga baga at kalusugan, kundi nagbibigay din ng pagkakataon para sa ating mga kabataan na magkaroon ng magandang kinabukasan. Sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalaganap ng kamalayan at edukasyon tungkol sa mga panganib ng v**e, maaari nating maiwasan ang pagkalat nito sa ating komunidad. Kaya't mahalaga na maging matatag at mag-ingat sa mga solusyon na inaalok ng lipunan. May ibang solusyon, hindi v**e.
