The Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) COMELEC officially releases the results of the 2026 Supreme Student Council (SSC) Elections.

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Main Campus Commission on Elections (COMELEC) officially conducted the online voting for the Supreme Student Council (SSC) Election 2026 today, May 20.

According to the COMELEC, the shift to an online voting system was implemented to protect students from extreme heat and to modernize the electoral process.

Students are advised to cast their votes through the provided link until 5:00 PM today.

In accordance with the university’s mission to foster globally competitive and civic-minded leaders, Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) announces the 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 at the NISU Estancia Main Campus on May 18, 2026 (Monday), from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

This suspension is implemented to facilitate the Miting de Avance, a vital platform for deliberative democracy where candidates will present their manifestos and governance solutions.

The Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Commission on Elections (COMELEC) officially announces the adoption of an 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 for the upcoming Supreme Student Council Elections on May 20, 2026.

Following the approval of Resolution No. 05, Series of 2026, this transition from a manual paper-based system to a digital platform was decided with the following priorities in mind:

𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 & 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘧𝘢𝘳𝘦: In response to the extreme heat index forecasted for May, this shift protects our 5,625 students from the health risks associated with long queues in physical polling precincts.

𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 & 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘺: The online system is designed to maintain the "Inviolable Secrecy of the Ballot" while providing an auditable and transparent digital trail.

𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: This move aligns with NISU’s mission to integrate modern technological tools into campus governance, ensuring a faster and more cost-effective electoral process.

The Commission will soon release supplemental guidelines regarding technical procedures for digital authentication, the schedule of online "precinct" availability, and canvassing protocols.

The Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Commission on Elections (COMELEC) formally announces the postponement and rescheduling of the Miting de Avance, pursuant to Resolution No. 04, Series of 2026.

Originally scheduled for May 13, the event will now take place on:

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚:
According to the resolution, this strategic adjustment was made due to:

𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴: Abrupt shifts in university schedules impacting the availability of university officials.

𝘈𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦: Additional time required for budget processing and auditing to ensure the integrity of the online voting infrastructure.

𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘴: Overlapping academic events in various departments that would hinder maximum student participation.

This postponement is a strategic measure to uphold the standards of "Civic Realism" and to ensure a high-impact environment where candidates can effectively present their platforms to the student body.
