Theme: Revisiting Social Issues through Research and Innovation for the Better New Normal

Date: April 27 – 28, 2021

Guidelines and Mechanics of the Research Congress (Updated)

1. The final schedule of the Virtual Research Congress (Round 1) will be on April 27-28, 2021. The committee will create a facebook group wherein all group leaders will upload their video presentations of not more than 15 minutes. The board of judges will be invited to join the facebook group so that they can watch all the video presentations. Deadline of uploading video presentations and pdf copy of the manuscript will be this coming Sunday (April 25, 2021) at exactly 7:30am. The judging will start on April 25, 2021 at exactly 7:30 am (Sunday). This means that group leaders should upload their video presentations and pdf copies of their manuscripts not later than 7:30am of Sunday (April 25, 2021). Declaration of winners will be on April 28, 2021 (Closing Program). Only the video presentations chosen as finalists will be simulcasted or played in the opening program on April 27, 2021. This means that all video presentations included in the live streaming of the Virtual Research Congress on April 27, 2021 (9:00 – 5:00) will have a chance to receive the major awards. Only the group researchers who can upload the video presentations and pdf copies of the manuscripts (by the group leaders) in the official facebook will be included in the final list of group presenters. One (1) hard copy of the manuscript will be submitted in the school by the parents (if possible) following the minimum health protocols of the Department of Health (DOH) not later than 10:00am of Monday (April 26, 2021) at the Office of The Property Custodian. The group researchers who have a well-designed research instrument (survey questionnaire) for quantitative research and guide questions (for qualitative research) for data gathering activities will have an edge in the score sheet of the board of judges. The following will be the sample captions in uploading the video presentations and pdf copies of the manuscripts:

For Video Presentation:

For pdf copy of the manuscript:

Financial Literacy, Spending Practices and Performance of Public School Teachers in the Division of Sultan Kudarat

Note: pdf copies of the manuscripts should have the standard cover page with the names of the researchers.

2. There will be two (2) categories of the virtual presentation of students’ outputs in research useful in daily life activities. To wit:
a. Presentation of Research Proposals (Chapters I to III including preliminaries and survey questionnaire or guide questions)
b. Presentation of Final Outputs (Qualitative Researches) using IMRAD Format with preliminaries and guide questions used during the data gathering activities

3. For the presentation of research proposals, each group will prepare a maximum of 15-minute video presentation that will explain the research title, little background of the study, conceptual framework, SOP and methodology which includes research design, respondents and locale of the study, sampling technique, research instrument/tool (survey questionnaire/guide questions), data gathering activities and statistical treatment including the research parameters or criteria for presentation, analysis and interpretation of data. Group presenters should avoid reading the texts only. Spontaneous explaining the research paper is really encouraged.

4. For the presentation of completed qualitative researches, each group will prepare a maximum of 15-minute video presentation that will explain the research title, little background of the study, general objective of the study, methodology which includes research design, participants and locale of the study, research tools and data gathering procedures and specific objective (SOP) with its findings. Take note: This is a qualitative research. This means that group presenters must be excellent in making realistic “kwento” out of a phenomenon. Group presenters should avoid reading the texts only. Spontaneous explaining the research paper is really encouraged.

5. Cross examination of the group presenters will be done through phone calling. That’s why, researchers should indicate their active cellphone numbers in the caption of their video presentations to be uploaded in the official facebook group.
