The Linguistic Society of the Philippines (LSP), a premier organization dedicated to the study and advancement of linguistics and language education in the country, held its 8th Linguistic Society of the Philippines Conference at West Visayas State University with the theme โ€œCharting Future-Proof Paths in Linguistics and Language Education.โ€ The conference took place from April 23โ€“25, 2026.

On Day 1 of the conference, Prof. Ma. Kaela Joselle Madrunio, together with Dr. Rachelle Ballesteros Lintao, discussed in the Special Panel on Migration Linguistics their paper entitled โ€œLinguistic Constructions of Migrant Identity in the Alice and Sheila Guo Senate Hearings within a Global South Context.โ€

Camille Angel Cachola of BEE III-3 presented her paper, โ€œAI in the Classroom: Exploring Teachersโ€™ Perceptions on the Use of AI-Generated Images,โ€ during Day 2 of the conference in a concurrent session.
