Just in: MARINA Advisory MA-2020-57 Seafarers-Related Guidelines in view of the declaration of MECQ in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan.

III. CONDUCT OF TRAINING, EXAMINATION AND ASSESSMENT

1. Pursuant to Sec. 2(4)(c)(viii) of the above mention IATF-MEID Resolution, the conduct of all MARINA-Accredited Maritime Training Courses, as well Practical Assessment, in the areas under the MECQ may continue subject to compliance with MARINA Advisory No. 2020-36, Series of 2020 and its subsequent amendments.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC: ALL SCHEDULED THEORETICAL EXAMINATION from 04–18 AUGUST 2020 on below examination venues are hereby SUSPENDED. This is in line with the government’s declaration to revert the National Capital Region (NCR) to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) on the aforementioned period.

Further, ALL scheduled appointment for FINAL EVALUATION OF THEORETICAL EXAMINATION in MANILA from 04–18 August 2020 is likewise SUSPENDED.

All affected seafarers shall be rescheduled to later date without forfeiture of their payment. The NEW SCHEDULE OF THEORETICAL EXAMINATION and FINAL EVALUATION shall be provided by the Examination and Assessment Division (EAD) of STCW Office to respective examinees through text message and e-mail.

Seafarers who will not be able to take the examination or attend the final evaluation on the given date may still request to reschedule their transaction to later available date through SMS or email. No need to report to MARINA Office to secure new schedule.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC: Pursuant to the implementation of Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), please be informed that MARINA, particularly the Certification Division of STCW Office and Manpower Development Service, will still conduct business as usual on Mondays to Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but on a limited capacity.

The MARINA Central Office is open to process expedite applications for seafarers who are scheduled to depart within 5 days. Only authorized Liaison Officers will be allowed to facilitate, follow up, and claim the certificates.

The MARINA Satellite Office in SM Manila is open but will cater only to seafarers who have received automated text messages stating that their certificates are ready for release.

The processing and releasing of SRB and SID will be available only in SM Manila but is limited for walk-in applicants who are scheduled for deployment.

The MARINA Satellite Office at PITX is closed for the whole duration of MECQ, i.e. August 4 to 18, 2020.
