Congratulations to Aya Berenize Pugay, a 4th Year BS Biology (Microbiology Track) student, for clinching 2nd Runner-Up (Individual Category) at the Philippine Microbiology Olympiad (PhilMO) – NCR/Region IV Leg, held at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Manila last April 24, 2026!

As one of the top three finishers, Aya will represent NCR and Region IV at the PhilMO 2026 National Championship, to be held at De La Salle University Laguna Campus this July 2026.

A huge thank you to the official competition coach, Sir Jordan Abellar, for the guidance and support that made this achievement possible.

🔍 Key Role:
Provide administrative and technical support for the BS Biology AUN-QA assessment, including research, documentation, coordination, and progress monitoring to ensure timely completion.

• Track deliverables and monitor progress
• Perform other administrative tasks as needed

𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗔𝗖𝗨𝗖 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) 🐁

The UP Manila IACUC is offering a free, asynchronous, self-paced online Basic IACUC Training, exclusively for the UPM-PGH community. The training will run from March 23, 2026, to April 10, 2026.

This training is highly recommended for UP Manila faculty, students, and staff who are planning or currently engaged in biomedical research. Completion of this course is mandatory for all personnel listed on an IACUC protocol.

The course covers essential topics, including animal welfare principles, legal bases for animal research, role and functions of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and fundamentals of animal use in research

Participants who complete the modules and pass the assessment with a minimum score of 70% within the designated period will receive a Certificate of Completion.
