On this International Social Work Day, we celebrate the heart of the social work profession which is rooted in the values of human dignity, social justice, and community participation. In line with the theme of World Social Work Day 2026, โCo-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Societyโ, we are reminded in the crucial role of social work in bringing together people, communities and systems for the collective call for unity and mutual understanding.
We stand in a special time in our human journey to rise in the divisions, inequality and ecological challenges. This is an opportune time to respond responsibly and meaningfully to the global call for an equitable and sustainable future for all. And by means of peaceful solutions and harmonious efforts, we can nurture hope, strengthen unity, build resilient and thriving communities and societies.
Let us remain steadfast in upholding and advancing cooperative values grounded in solidarity, equality and shared responsibility in facing human adversities.

Womenโs Month is not only about giving recognition to women, but it is also about acknowledging and appreciating their silent sacrifices, struggles, and unwavering courage, as well as the efforts they make behind every progress and achievement of women in society. With this yearโs banner, โWE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,โ everyone is encouraged to take part in collective action to foster safe environments and spaces for women and a society that advances rights and opportunities free from gender-based limitations and strives to create a community where acceptance, respect and inclusivity are upheld as fundamental values for all.
Guided by the call to โLead like the Babaylans, Filipinas,โ we connect the heritage of pre-colonial and modern Filipinas by inspiring us with a legacy of their contributions and actions grounded in wisdom, empathy, mediation, and moral guidance. Indeed, a celebration of womenโs strength and enduring resilience across times and influencing meaningful change and creating impact in our everyday lives.
