Every Child Matters, Every Learner Thrives

Today, July 23, 2026, Magalalag National High School was truly honored to welcome Ma'am Salbina A. Macarubbo, Education Program Supervisor in Values Education, for her monitoring visit of our Special Needs Education (SNED) Program. We were equally privileged by the presence of our Public Schools District Supervisor, Sir Ruperto D. Tungcul Jr. Their visit reflects the Department of Education's unwavering commitment to ensuring that every learner receives quality, equitable, and inclusive education.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our school principal, Sir Darwin Taguiam, for his warm welcome and dedicated leadership, and to our SNED Coordinator, Ma'am Benelda C. Bautista, whose tireless efforts, passion, and commitment have been instrumental in the successful implementation of the SNED Program. MNHS continues to create opportunities for learners with special educational needs to thrive in a caring and supportive learning environment.

The monitoring visit served as a meaningful reminder that the success of inclusive education is made possible through teamwork, collaboration, and a shared vision. When school leaders, supervisors, teachers, coordinators, parents, and stakeholders work hand in hand, we build a learning community where every child is valued, respected, empowered, and given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

The visit reaffirmed our shared commitment to excellence and accountability in education.

As the saying goes, "Great leaders don't simply direct others; they inspire them to work harder, grow stronger, and pursue excellence together." Sir Ruperto’s dedication and encouraging leadership remind us that genuine leaders empower others through guidance, mentorship, and a clear vision for continuous improvement. MAGALALAG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, Enrile, Cagayan – The spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility was evident as Hon. Miguel B. Decena Jr., Municipal Mayor of Enrile, joined the school community of Magalalag National High School during its Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, reaffirming the Local Government Unit's steadfast commitment to providing every learner with a safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment.

Accompanying the Mayor were Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Ruperto D. Tungcul Jr., Hon. Peter Decena, Hon. Agapita Macarubbo, Hon. Cristina Magbitang, Hon. Sergio Turingan, and Chief of Police Sir Harold Ocfemia. Their presence reflected the strong partnership among the Department of Education, the Local Government Unit of Enrile, and the Philippine National Police in advancing learner welfare and strengthening school safety.

Addressing learners, teachers, and school personnel during the ceremony, Hon. Miguel B. Decena Jr. emphasized that every child deserves to learn in an environment where they feel safe, respected, and valued. He shared that creating such an environment is a collective responsibility - one that calls for the active participation of the local government, schools, law enforcement agencies, parents, and the wider community. He also assured the school of the LGU's continuing support for programs and initiatives that protect learners and promote their holistic development.

In his message, Dr. Ruperto D. Tungcul Jr. highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between education leaders and local government officials in ensuring that schools remain places where learners can grow with confidence and dignity. He noted that meaningful partnerships enable schools to respond more effectively to the needs of learners while fostering a culture of care, discipline, and excellence.

Sir Darwin A. Taguiam expressed his sincere gratitude to the distinguished guests for taking time to visit the school and personally engage with the MNHS community. He described the visit as a powerful reminder that quality education is strengthened when government leaders, educators, and community partners work together toward a common goal. He further affirmed the school's commitment to sustaining programs that prioritize learner safety, well-being, and academic success.

More than a ceremonial visit, the gathering reflected a shared vision of building schools where every learner is protected, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential. It also reinforced the enduring partnership among the Department of Education, the Local Government Unit of Enrile, the Philippine National Police, and the school community in creating an educational environment where every learner can thrive.
