Lemu National High School Students Triumph in Municipal Tourism Quiz Bee

ENRILE, CAGAYAN — August 21, 2026. Two Grade 11 learners of Lemu National High School emerged victorious in the Municipal Tourism Quiz Bee held today at the Municipal Hall of the Local Government Unit of Enrile.

Leading the impressive performance of the school was Ricardo Steven Alaijah Barasi-Battung, who clinched the Champion/First Place title after demonstrating exceptional knowledge and understanding of tourism, culture, history, arts and other relevant aspects of the municipality. His remarkable achievement showcased not only his academic preparedness but also his pride in the rich cultural and tourism heritage of Enrile.

Adding another honor to the school's achievement was Cristabel Mae Battung Servino, who secured Second Place in the competition. Her outstanding performance further highlighted the dedication, confidence, and competence of Lemu National High School's Senior High School learners.

The victories of Battung and Servino brought pride and honor to Lemu National High School, their teachers, parents, and the entire school community. Their success serves as an inspiration to fellow learners to actively participate in activities that promote appreciation of local history, culture, tourism, and community identity.

The 2026 Municipal Saludo Educators Awards / Search for Most Outstanding Teacher was successfully held today August 18, 2026 at Enrile West Central School, bringing together educators, non‑teaching personnel, and school heads to celebrate excellence in teaching and commitment to quality education.

In this year’s search, Ma’am Edlen P. Taguinod was recognized as 1st Runner‑Up in the Search for Most Outstanding Key Stage 3 Teacher, while Sir John Elpie C. Caranguian was awarded 2nd Runner‑Up in the Search for Most Outstanding Key Stage 4 Teacher.

The awarding ceremony highlighted the unwavering commitment of educators in Enrile to uphold DepEd’s mission of delivering quality education and fostering 21st‑century skills. It also underscored the importance of honoring teachers who go beyond their mandated duties to inspire, innovate, and lead in their respective schools.

This year’s Municipal Saludo Educators Awards reaffirmed that the teaching profession remains at the heart of community development, with educators like Ma’am Edlen P. Taguinod and Sir John Elpie C. Caranguian exemplifying dedication, integrity, and excellence.

School Building Inventory Committee – Guardians of Transparency and Development

The School Building Inventory Committee stands as one of the pillars of accountability in the school community. Tasked with documenting and monitoring classrooms, facilities, and learning spaces, the committee ensures that every corner of the institution is properly accounted for.

Beyond record keeping, the committee plays a vital role in safeguarding the safety and functionality of learning spaces. Regular inspections allow the school to identify areas for improvement, prioritize repairs, and allocate resources efficiently. PSDS Ruperto D. Tungcul Jr. Visits Lemu National High School, Provides Technical Assistance

Lemu, Enrile, Cagayan — Lemu National High School welcomed Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) Ruperto D. Tungcul on July 15, 2026, for a technical assistance visit aimed at strengthening school management, instructional leadership, and the implementation of Department of Education programs.

During the visit, PSDS Tungcul met with School Head Yolanda G. Macarilay, together with the Head Teacher III, Elaine B. Malazzab, to discuss key aspects of school operations and instructional supervision. The technical assistance session focused on reinforcing effective school leadership practices, monitoring curriculum implementation, and ensuring compliance with DepEd policies and standards.

PSDS Tungcul provided valuable insights and recommendations on improving instructional delivery, strengthening learner support mechanisms, and enhancing school performance through collaborative leadership. He also emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring, and professional collaboration among school leaders to achieve quality education outcomes.

School Head Yolanda G. Macarilay expressed her appreciation for the guidance and technical support extended during the visit, noting that the recommendations would further strengthen the school's ongoing initiatives toward academic excellence and effective school governance.

The meeting also served as an avenue for open discussion, allowing the school leaders to share accomplishments, identify challenges, and formulate appropriate strategies for continuous improvement.
