Connecting the dots to find long term solutions.
I had the opportunity to meet Thierry Giron of Kalawili Farm and discuss their Black Soldier Fly project, which holds immense potential to support our Segregation at Source Project led by the APO El Nido Alumni Association - Petitioning in partnership with Local Marine Ecoprotectors and El Nido Chamber of Commerce and Industry. By introducing this innovative solution, particularly in managing food waste, we aim to address environmental concerns effectively.
The Black Soldier Fly project offers numerous benefits, including efficient conversion of organic waste into high-quality compost and the production of nutrient-rich larvae suitable for animal feed. This not only helps in reducing landfill waste but also contributes to sustainable agricultural practices.
We are excited to replicate this project in Corong-Corong, serving as our pilot area starting this March. I extend my gratitude to Sir Eric Happy Bana Na for facilitating this meeting and look forward to the positive impact our collaboration will have on waste management efforts in our community.🥰

The APO El Nido Alumni Association - Petitioning recognizes and values the critical role of partnering with the Local Government Unit (LGU) in ensuring the success of our Segregation at Source Project. We have taken proactive steps to engage in open communication with the LGU, specifically with Ms. Meriam Arzaga, the Division Head of Environmental and Natural Resources Management which oversee the Solid Waste Management at the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).
During our discussions, we have shared valuable information regarding the implementation of the project and explored avenues for enhanced collaboration. We are pleased with the positive outcome of our meeting and are confident that our efforts will not only yield short-term solutions but also pave the way for a sustainable, long-term approach to waste management in our community.
By working hand-in-hand with the LGU, we are laying the foundation for an institutionalized approach to waste management that will benefit our town for years to come.
We encourage everyone to join us in our commitment to making a positive impact on our environment and ensuring a cleaner, healthier future for all.
Together, we can achieve great things.🥰

The inaugural Compliance Drive program, spearheaded by LME and the Chamber, in partnership with APO EL NIDO AA, IslandFront Corporation and YC ECHAGUE Corporation was a success, bringing together stakeholders to discuss objectives, expectations, and support mechanisms.
In a collaborative effort, we highlighted the program's significance in shaping El Nido's present and future business landscape.
By participating in this initiative, businesses not only demonstrate their commitment to ethical practices but also position themselves as key players in fostering compliance and accountability within our community.
Joining the Compliance Drive program is not just about meeting regulatory requirements; it's about actively contributing to the growth and sustainability of El Nido.
Through this partnership between the private sector and governmental agencies, we can pave the way for a more transparent and responsible business environment.
Let's unite in our commitment to integrity and compliance, driving positive change for all in El Nido.

The SEGREGATION AT SOURCE Project initiated by the Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association, as well as the COMPLIANCE DRIVE Project led by the Local Marine Ecoprotectors and El Nido Chamber, has commenced with the installation of billboards. Simultaneously, the dissemination of invitation letters were distributed by our volunteers to different establishments the whole day. These efforts aim to pave the way for a transformative dialogue and workshop next week, where we can collectively strategize on how to align with all government regulatory requirements.
By fostering collaboration and unity within our community, we have the opportunity to make a significant impact on environmental preservation and sustainable practices.
Let's join hands and work together towards a better, more resilient future for El Nido.
