In observance of the 34th National Family Week and Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day, work in all agencies and instrumentalities of the National Government, including government-owned and -controlled corporations and state universities and colleges, shall be suspended starting at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 136.

The suspension is pursuant to Proclamation No. 60 (s. 1992), which declared the last week of September of every year as Family Week, and Proclamation No. 326 (s. 2012), which declared the fourth Monday of September every year as “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day.

The festivities continued on September 19, beginning at 9:00 PM in Echague Banchetto, bringing the community together for an evening of live music, entertainment, and celebration. Janine Berdin, Rob Deniel, Cosmic Band, and the Perkin Twins took the stage to entertain the crowd and add to the night’s festivities.

From Berdin’s powerful vocals and Deniel’s energetic performance to Cosmic Band’s live set and the Perkin Twins’ special appearance, the night was filled with music and excitement as the crowd enjoyed the performances.

AFTER YEARS IN THE MENGAL ARENA, ENHS FINALLY DANCES TO THE TOP!

After years of competing in the Mengal arena, Echague National High School (ENHS) has finally claimed the crown, emerging as CHAMPION in the Mengal Grand Dance Showdown 2026 during the final day of the Mengal Festival, September 19, at the Echague Municipal Banchetto Ground.

The team also got the Best in Music and Best in Choreography

Gamu, LD 2 to host ISPAA 2027

ECHAGUE, Isabela — The Municipality of Gamu and Legislative District (LD) 2 will host the Isabela Provincial Athletic Association (ISPAA) Meet 2027 following the formal turnover of hosting responsibilities during the closing and awarding ceremony of ISPAA 2026 at the Echague Banchetto Municipal Ground on September 16.

Representatives of LD 2 and the Municipality of Gamu, including school heads from the district, received the ISPAA banner during the ceremony, symbolising the transfer of hosting responsibilities from Echague to Gamu.
