TEACHER RUBINA JOINS NATIONAL TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION AT ARANETA COLISEUM

Teacher Rubina Nato joined approximately 10,500 teachers from Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, V, the National Capital Region (NCR), and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) during the National Teachers Day Celebration held at the Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City on October 5, 2026.

The event honored the dedication and contributions of Filipino teachers in shaping the nation's learners. Among the notable speakers were Education Secretary Sonny Angara, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, and President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who expressed their appreciation and support for educators.

A highlight of the celebration was the recognition of the Metrobank Foundation Most Outstanding Filipino Teachers for their excellence and commitment to the teaching profession.

Teachers were also treated to performances by popular artists including Alden Richards, Piolo Pascual, Donita Nose and Periwinkle, Raymond Lauchengco, Jona, Pops Fernandez, Donny Pangilinan, Alex Calleja, and Kakai Bautista. Excitement filled the venue as lucky participants won prizes during several raffle draws conducted throughout the program.

Teacher Rubina described the event as both meaningful and inspiring.

"It is truly an honor to be part of this celebration. Being with thousands of fellow educators and hearing inspiring messages from our leaders motivates me to continue serving our learners with dedication." she shared.

The celebration concluded with teachers returning to their schools inspired and empowered to continue their mission of educating Filipino youth.

BANILA ES TEACHERS SHINE IN DISTRICT-LEVEL SEARCH FOR INDOMITABLE KNOWLEDGE, ATTRIBUTES AND TALENTS (SIKAT)

BANILA, DUPAX DEL SUR, NUEVA VIZCAYA — Seven dedicated educators from Banila Elementary School brought pride and honor to the school after earning top distinctions in their respective categories during the District-Level Search for Indomitable Knowledge, Attributes and Talents (SIKAT) and were recognized during the Teacher's Day Celebration on October 3, 2026 which was sponsored by the Municipal Local Government Unit of Dupax del Sur.

The recognition highlights the teachers’ exemplary performance, commitment to quality education, and unwavering dedication to the learners and the teaching profession. Their accomplishments reflect the school’s continuing pursuit of excellence and its commitment to providing meaningful and responsive learning experiences for every child.

Leading the roster of awardees are:
• RUBINA P. NATO, Champion (Kindergarten Category)
• VILMA C. BUGAAY, Champion (Grade 1 Category)
• NERISA M. DAYAG, First Runner-Up (Grade 2 Category)
• MILA T. DOMINGO, Third Runner-Up (Grade 3 Category)
• RICHARD C. FABIAN, Third Runner-Up (Grade 4 Category)
• DOLORES M. DAMIAN, First Runner-Up (Grade 5 Category)
• GLEN MILLER M. CAMPO, Champion (Master Teacher Category)

However, Sir Glen was not able to witness the awarding ceremony.

He surrendered his life to the Almighty Father on September 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service to education and to the learners he served. His recognition came after his passing, making the honor a poignant tribute to an educator whose commitment to his profession continued to be remembered by his colleagues and the school community.

His posthumous recognition as Champion in the Master Teacher Category is more than an award. It serves as a lasting testament to the excellence and professional commitment he demonstrated during his years in the teaching profession.

His name may have been called during the awarding ceremony, but his presence was deeply felt in the hearts of the Banila ES family.

For the school community, the recognition is both a celebration and a remembrance—a reminder that a teacher’s influence does not end when he leaves the classroom. The lessons he shared, the lives he touched, and the example he left behind continue to live on.

Banila Elementary School family, under the leadership of School Head Ma. Pia Visitacion G. Abijay, extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees and honors the memory and legacy of the late Sir Glen Miller M. Campo.

SCIENCE SUPERVISOR AND PSDS VISIT BANILA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Teachers and pupils welcomed guests as Dr. Ronie Bibas, Education Program Supervisor for Science, visited Banila Elementary School. He was joined by Lina D. Pal-ec, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) of the district.

During their visit, Dr. Bibas and Mrs. Pal-ec went around classrooms to observe how teachers conduct their lessons. They watched pupils take part in class discussions and activities, and they talked with teachers about their daily classroom work.

Aside from the classroom visits, Dr. Bibas also gave technical assistance to the teachers. He helped them understand and unpack the learning competencies they need to teach, making it easier for them to plan lessons that truly match what pupils need to learn.

Dr. Bibas also guided the teachers in creating Learning Action Cell (LAC) proposals and Project Proposals. These plans will help teachers work together, share ideas, and find better ways to teach science in their classrooms.

Teachers said the visit was very helpful, especially the tips and guidance they received. They are thankful for the support given by Dr. Bibas and Mrs. Pal-ec. They look forward to using what they learned to make their lessons even better for their pupils.

BANILANIANS SHINE IN 2026 DUPAX DEL SUR ATHLETIC MEET

Thirteen learners from Banila Elemetary School showcased their athletic skills amd sportsmanship during the 2026 Dupax del Sur Athletic Meet held on August 15, 2026 at Dupax Central School.

The young athletes competed in various events against participants from other schools in the district. Their determination and handwork paid off as several BES learners secured top spots in the competition.

Ed Marius Sagario captured 1st Place in Discuss Throw, 2nd Place in Shotput, 2nd Place in Javelin Throw.

Jheeperd P. Pascual won 1st Place in Javelin Throw, 2nd Place in Discuss Throw, and 3rd Place in Shotput.

Marc Zaijan C. Duyaggan displayed exceptional speed on the track as he claimed 1st Place in the 200-meter run.

Other notable achievement included Gian Carl Lindo won 3rd Place in 100-meter run and Reysan Agsan won 3rd Place in Badminton Singles.

Banila ES was also proudly represented by Diversun D. Tolabes
Jovhan P. Domingo, and Dhellieca Sagungen in Chess, while Rhione Alden Valdez, Shehan Agsan and Randel Taipan competed in Badminton. Jenrow Viray participated in other track events.

Banila Elementary School secured 2nd Place overall in the 2026 Dupax del Sur Athletic Meet.

Parents, teachers and other stakeholders expressed their pride in the learners’ accomplishments, recognizing that their success is the collaborative effort of the school community.

ARAL Reading Program 2026 Launched to Strengthen Literacy in Banila ES

The ARAL Reading Program 2026 was officially launched in a ceremony attended by the school leader, teachers, parents, community officials, and pupils, marking a renewed effort to strengthen literacy among learners.

The event featured opening rites, followed by welcome remarks from School ARAL Reading Coordinator Mila T. Domingo, who emphasized the role of community in education. Teacher VI Richard C. Fabian outlined the program’s purpose, describing reading as a lifelong skill essential to success.

Ma. Pia Visitacion G. Abijay, HT I, formally declared the program open, highlighting collaboration as key to its success. Support was also expressed by Punong Barangay, Hon. Edilberto L. Navarro.

A ceremonial distribution of learning materials symbolized the initiative’s commitment to empowering students through reading.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Mrs. Vilma C. Bugaay, Teacher 6, who expressed gratitude to all participants and encouraged continued support for the ARAL Program 2026 to ensure its success.
