ARAL Reading Program 2026 Launched to Strengthen Literacy in Banila ES

The ARAL Reading Program 2026 was officially launched in a ceremony attended by the school leader, teachers, parents, community officials, and pupils, marking a renewed effort to strengthen literacy among learners.

The event featured opening rites, followed by welcome remarks from School ARAL Reading Coordinator Mila T. Domingo, who emphasized the role of community in education. Teacher VI Richard C. Fabian outlined the program’s purpose, describing reading as a lifelong skill essential to success.

Ma. Pia Visitacion G. Abijay, HT I, formally declared the program open, highlighting collaboration as key to its success. Support was also expressed by Punong Barangay, Hon. Edilberto L. Navarro.

A ceremonial distribution of learning materials symbolized the initiative’s commitment to empowering students through reading.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Mrs. Vilma C. Bugaay, Teacher 6, who expressed gratitude to all participants and encouraged continued support for the ARAL Program 2026 to ensure its success.

Empowering Wellness: District Nurse Visits Banila ES

The school recently welcomed the District Nurse for a health-focused visit centered on the well-being of both learners and teachers.

The nurse monitored the implementation of the School Feeding Program to ensure proper nutrition and smooth delivery of services. She provided medical assistance to selected learners and also extended health assistance to teachers.

To promote holistic wellness, she conducted a Mental Health Awareness activity through interactive games, encouraging pupils to express their emotions and practice self-care.

The visit reinforced BES’s commitment to fostering a healthy and resilient school community.

A Young Chess Player's Provincial Meet Experience

One of the eager and motivated young learners of the school was proudly representing her school at the NVPAA Meet Batch 2, where she demonstrated her talent, devotion, and passion for playing chess.

Althea Mae S. Domingo, a Grade 6 pupil, played in the Chess Elementary Girls category at the NVPAA Meet, which was held from February 4-6, 2026. Although she did not place among the winners, she demonstrated great strategic acumen, concentration, and confidence throughout the competition, making her participation in this provincial event truly commendable.

Althea Mae was not only bright academically. Being the Grade 6 best student, she demonstrated that hard work and discipline could lead to success in the classroom as well as in sports. This dedication was evident in her academic performance, which was also reflected in her chess training.

Althea Mae practiced diligently at school and at home under the supervision of her school coach, Loriley A. Pudiquet. She also trained her abilities through online chess games, while her father played and practiced with her, taught her more advanced tactics, and gave her confidence in her gameplay.

With a passion to achieve, Domingo shared, “I practiced daily at school, at home, and online so that I could improve, compete, and make our school proud.

Birthday Blessings Bring Smiles to Banila ES

Banila, January 26, 2026 — "Birthday Angels" Ms. Greys Chua and Ms. Juffini Marie Ibay recently shared their special day with the students of Banila Elementary School, turning their own celebration into a gift for the school community. Instead of keeping the spotlight, they brought joy and treats to the children, spreading laughter and cheer throughout the campus.

The Jollibee mascot made a surprise appearance, delighting students who eagerly lined up for photos and hugs. Everyone enjoyed favorites like Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, and refreshing sorbet, making the day feel festive and memorable. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, chatter, and the happy buzz of children savoring every moment.

“Choose to be happy and enjoy life while it lasts,” said Ms. Chua. “Seeing the kids enjoy themselves is the best gift we could ever ask for.” The celebration left a lasting impression on students and staff alike, reminding everyone at Banila ES that joy grows bigger when it’s shared.

Banila Elementary School Rings in the Holidays with Year-End Christmas Program and Program Implementation Review

Banila Elementary School rang in the holidays on December 19 with a Year-End Christmas Program cm Program Implementation Review, bringing together teachers, students, parents, and community stakeholders to celebrate the school’s achievements over the past year. The event was a joyful mix of reflection, gratitude, and festive cheer, highlighting the dedication, talent, and teamwork of the entire school community.

The program began with the singing of the Pambansang Awit, conducted by Mrs. Nerisa Dayag, and an Opening Prayer led by Mrs. Dolores M. Damian, followed by Opening Remarks from Mrs. Loriley A. Pudiquet and a message from Barangay Kagawad Felisa Taipan.

The Program Implementation Review highlighted the school’s achievements and initiatives throughout the year, reflecting the dedication of the entire school community.

Lively intermission numbers by each grade level and a Zumba Competition energized the celebration. Judged by Robert Morgado and Regine Tomboc, Banila Proper won 1st place, with Catanan placing 2nd.

Words of Gratitude were delivered by Mrs. Ma. Pia Visitacion G. Abijay, Head Teacher I, and an Inspirational Message was given on behalf of Hon. Timothy Joseph E. Cayton, Congressman of the Lone District of Nueva Vizcaya, represented by Ms. Cylene Puguon, Political Affairs Assistant I, encouraging unity and continued support for education and community programs.

Adding to the festive spirit, ice cream was distributed to all students and everyone present, generously donated by Municipal Kagawad Ferdinand Ibay, delighting the learners and making the celebration even more memorable.

The program concluded with Closing Remarks from Mrs. Nerisa B. Rodriguez, PTA President, inspiring everyone to carry forward the spirit of cooperation and gratitude. The event ended on a joyful note, celebrating both achievements and the festive Christmas season.

A dedicated young athlete of the school proudly displayed his exceptional strength and determination at the recently concluded 2025 NVPAA Meet, participating in the Throws event and bringing honor to the school through his remarkable performance.

Christsam Kyle O. Tomilas, a Grade 6 pupil, exhibited impressive power and technique in the Shot Put category, securing Second Place among strong contenders from various districts. His consistent effort and discipline throughout his training were evident in his outstanding throw.

Tomilas expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent the school in this year’s Provincial Meet, carrying with him experiences that further enhance his athletic potential.

Young Journalists Represent School in the 2025 Division Schools Press Conference

Five dedicated and passionate young journalists proudly represented their Banila Elementary School during the recent DSPC held at Villaverde Central School, Villaverde District.

The participants were Althea Mae S. Domingo, Dareen Jhee Pascual, Hanna D. Taipan, Doreen Ponciano, and Michaela C. Ballasiw, who each showcased their growing skills and interest in the field of campus journalism.

Although they did not secure top spot, these learners demonstrated enthusiasm and determination as they took part in various journalism events, reflecting their commitment to improving their craft. With the guidance of their coaches and the support of their school community, the participants continued to sharpen their abilities and gain meaningful experiences throughout the activity.

Their participation serves as an inspiration to other students and highlights the school’s strong support for developing young writers and future campus journalists.
