BUILDING A SAFER COMMUNITY TOGETHER

Earlier today, Piapi High School successfully hosted the Symposium on Safety Drill on Active Attack for Parents and Guardians at the North City Elementary School Gym.

The event kicked off with an inspiring opening message by Dr. Daphne G. Nodado, Principal I, who delivered a warm welcome to parents and guardians setting a collaborative tone for an afternoon dedicated to student safety and emergency preparedness.

Our guest speaker, Police Lt. Orlando E. Gonzaga, Chief- Police Community Affairs and Development Section, Dumaguete City Police Station, shared invaluable insights and practical strategies on how families and schools can prepare for and respond to active threat situations. Parents actively participated during the Open Forum, engaging in meaningful discussion to ensure our homes and school remain aligned in keeping our students safe.

The session wrapped up with the awarding of certificates to express our gratitude, followed by empowering closing remarks from Dr. Jose Percival O. Millan, Assistant Principal.

Preparedness starts with awareness, and today we took a strong step forward as one community!

PIAPI HIGH SCHOOL ORGANIZES FIRST SCHOOL GOVERNANCE COUNCIL (SGC) ORIENTATION AND ELECTION, AND LAUNCHING OF PROJECT TRUE AND PROJECT CARE 🤝

Piapi High School proudly conducted its First School Governance Council (SGC) Orientation and Election of Members for School Year 2026–2027, marking another meaningful step toward stronger stakeholder participation, shared leadership, and collaborative school governance.

The activity was led by the school administrators: School Principal Dr. Daphne G. Nodado, who delivered the inspirational message; Assistant Principal Dr. Jose Percival O. Millan, who gave the welcome message; and Mrs. Jaqueline C. Borbon, who presented the rationale of the activity. SGC Coordinator Ms. Venus de la Luna introduced the voting and non-voting members, while SGC Designated Chair Mr. Kennith M. Omnos shared the roles and responsibilities of SGC members.

The election of the new SGC officers was facilitated by the School Principal, resulting in the election of Mrs. Rosini Caballes as SGC Designated Co-Chair and Ms. Venus de la Luna as SGC Secretary.

The activity was further strengthened by messages of support from various stakeholders representing the students, teachers, private and public sectors, religious organizations, immersion partners, establishments, and local and barangay officials. Hon. Grace Osa of Barangay Piapi emphasized the importance of a strong school-LGU partnership, while Sir Dan Ordoña assured the school of the PTA's continued support for its programs and initiatives.

One of the highlights of the event was the launching of Project TRUE and Project CARE, two school initiatives dedicated to strengthening learner support and promoting the welfare and success of Piapi High School students.

The activity culminated in the Induction of the Newly Elected SGC Members and the School PTA Officers for School Year 2026–2027, symbolizing a renewed commitment to shared responsibility, meaningful collaboration, and a stronger partnership for the benefit of every learner.

Gratitude in Every Classroom🫶

A heartfelt thank you to DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara and the Department of Education – Dumaguete City, through the leadership of SDS Dr. Edmark Ian L. Cabio, and ASDS Dr. Juditha O. Mapue, for the generous provision of 43 lapel microphones for our teachers.

Thank you also to our OIC-CID Chief, Dr. Joesan M. Ramos, EPSvr in MAPEH, Dr. Rosenie B. Saraña and Mr. Kim Faburada for turning it over to the teaching force of Piapi High School.

This meaningful support will help our teachers communicate more clearly, engage learners more effectively, and make every classroom discussion more dynamic and inclusive.
