The 𝑵𝑶𝑹𝑳𝑨 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒍𝒚, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒔 (𝑪𝒀 2026–2027) held on March 6, 2026 at the Silliman University Library in Dumaguete City brought together librarians, library staff, and BLIS students for a day filled with learning, collaboration, and meaningful conversations.

From insightful discussions to the successful election of our new officers, the event truly showcased the unity and dedication of our library community. Important updates were also shared during the assembly, including the BLIS offering at NORSU, the upcoming launch of the NORLA Member’s Directory, and the NORLA partnership with Brgy. Candau-ay Reading Center in collaboration with NORSU and Silliman University Library.

This Love Month, the 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝑰𝒏𝒄. (𝑷𝑳𝑨𝑰) successfully conducted its 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 at UP CoEngLib, attended by 36 valued partners and stakeholders.

The meeting proceeded smoothly and generated overwhelmingly positive feedback. We are pleased to share that the discussions marked a significant step toward a more structured, strategic direction for our partnerships, fully aligned with PLAI’s institutional goals and long-term vision.

Our partners expressed strong support, with encouraging pledges and commitments to collaborate with PLAI in the coming years. The enthusiasm and shared commitment to strengthening the profession were truly inspiring.

As an immediate next step, we will begin working closely with our partners on their proposed areas of support, particularly in advancing the improvement and modernization of the PLAI National Office.

This milestone reflects our collective movement toward sustainable, strategic, and impactful partnerships.

Highlighted by a professional development seminar with 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐥𝐨 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐲𝐝𝐞 𝐒. 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨, 𝐏𝐡𝐃, of Negros Oriental State University as the Resource Speaker, who will discuss “𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀: 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.”
