“The sinister snake was no match for a string of Hail Marys.”

St. John Bosco, known for his prophetic dreams, once received a powerful vision that revealed the hidden strength of the Rosary.

On the eve of the Assumption, he saw a terrifying serpent—huge, coiled, and ready to strike. Fear gripped him. But a mysterious figure told him not to run.

Instead, he was handed a rope.

With hesitation, he struck the snake. Instantly, the beast lunged—but became entangled in the very rope meant to strike it. The more it fought, the tighter it was bound… until it finally died.

Then came the astonishing moment.

The rope was placed in a box—and when it was opened again, it had formed the words:

Ave Maria.

The meaning was unmistakable.

The serpent represents the devil.
The rope represents the Rosary—a chain of Hail Marys.

What seemed simple… even weak…
was actually a weapon powerful enough to defeat hell itself.

St. John Bosco later told his students:

“Whenever you are tempted, say a Hail Mary… and you will win.”

This is the secret many saints and exorcists have echoed:

The devil fears the Blessed Virgin Mary.
He flees at her name.
And he is crushed through the humble repetition of prayer.

So when temptation comes…
when fear creeps in…
when the battle feels overwhelming…

Pick up your Rosary.

What looks small in your hands…
is terrifying to hell.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. 🙏
