The field activity in Mag-Aso, Valencia turned out to be a solid and unforgettable experience for the 3rd and 4th year Geothermal Engineering students. From on-site testing of geothermal fluid parameters to identifying various rock samples, the activity provided an opportunity to witness how geothermal systems operate beyond textbooks and lectures.

𝙻𝚊𝚑𝚒 𝚛𝚊 𝚐𝚢𝚞𝚍 𝚊𝚗𝚐 𝚏𝚎𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚜𝚝𝚞𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚝 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚜 𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚖 🌡️ — 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚜𝚎𝚎𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚝𝚘𝚞𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚖𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚢𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚖 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢’𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚜𝚝𝚞𝚍𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚜.

And syempre, the show-stealer of the day: cooking gamit ang geothermal steam. Not your typical picnic — kay ang kaldero, ang nature mismo ang nag-init 🔥.

A huge thanks to Engr. Leizl Honculada and Engr. Christ Quinicot for their guidance, patience, and for making the experience both educational and unforgettable.

It aligns with the following sustainable development goals:
— SDG 4 (Quality Education), this hands-on learning strengthens technical skills and prepares future engineers for real-world energy challenges.
— SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) because geothermal is a clean, renewable energy source that shows how we can power communities sustainably.
— SDG 13 (Climate Action) as students explore sustainable, low-carbon geothermal systems firsthand.

At the end of the day, everyone went home with one thought: geothermal hits different when you see it in action 🌋.

Teachers instill not only knowledge but also values. They teach us the importance of integrity, respect, and empathy, guiding their students to become responsible and compassionate citizens. They foster critical thinking, encouraging students to question and explore their creative mind. In a world that is constantly evolving, teachers equip their students with the skills and the right mindset we needed to adapt and thrive.🌎

As what Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon," yet without teachers we would lack the knowledge and wisdom to harness its true strength, our mind will not be sharpened, its potential untapped and its impact will not bring a meaningful change.🏫

Imagine harnessing the raw energy of the earth to fuel our future! ♻️

The Philippine Association of Geothermal Engineering Students (PAGES) officers gathered all first-year geothermal engineering students, along with the geothermal instructors, at the CEA AVR with the theme "𝗜𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹: 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴".

The instructors of geothermal engineering are more than just educators - they're also storytellers who ignite a fire within their students. Engineer Verbosidad, a pioneering geothermal engineer, said that attitude is a must. Through their stories, students gain a deeper understanding of the geothermal engineering course.
