Just a table, a few plates of food, a projector, and a group of brothers and sisters who chose to show up.

On that day, decisions had to be made—plans for the future, direction for the League, and responsibilities that would shape not just activities, but lives. Ideas were raised, opinions differed, and not everyone agreed at first.

Some moments called for immediate action. Others demanded silence, reflection, and patience.

And in that room, leadership revealed itself—not through who spoke the loudest, but through who listened the most… who understood when to push forward, and when to pause for the sake of unity.

No one left as the “winner” of an argument.
They left as brothers and sisters with clearer purpose and stronger bonds.

Because what was built that day wasn’t just a plan…

it was TRUST.

Did You Know?

The Sceptre, derived from the Latin word sceptrum and the Greek word SKEPTRON (meaning staff, stick, or baton), has long been a universal emblem of sovereignty and authority. Since antiquity, rulers have carried it during ceremonial occasions, symbolising the legitimacy of their power and the dignity of their leadership.

In ancient Greece, monarchs were often depicted mounted on horses while bearing a sceptre, embodying strength, command, and noble governance. This historical association explains why, during the 1980s and 1990s, the horse became an emblematic figure—directly connected to the authentic heritage of the SKEPTRON.

It must be emphasised that the Skeptron is not, and has never been, a representation of mascots, animals, dragons, butterflies, or skulls. Such symbols hold no historical foundation nor any rightful connection to the true meaning of the insignia.

To remain faithful to its genuine essence, we must preserve and honour the original symbol as it was intended.

🫡 Lets Transcend to Greatness !!

Let us initiate reform and establish a unified set of laws and standards that will be strictly implemented across all sectors — alumni, collegiate, council, and community-based chapters. Membership must be carefully screened, ensuring that only those who can uphold and bring honour to the fraternity are accepted, rather than those who might damage the name and reputation of Alpha Kappa Rho.

It becomes difficult to enforce discipline when some members refuse to follow the rules, lack understanding, or create internal conflicts within the group. Being part of a community chapter should not mean that anyone can automatically be accepted, especially out-of-school youth or minors. Many of them are already struggling in their personal lives — how can they be expected to sustain chapter funds or contribute to community projects? Naturally, their priority would be their own needs and families.

Recruitment efforts should instead focus on college students, those who have jobs, businesses, or are stable in life. as they are the ones who can strengthen and elevate the chapters they join. Once they succeed in their studies and future careers, they will become the true pillars and representatives of the fraternity’s ideals.

Respect the Origin – Know the Truth Behind Our Seal!

Many members of Alpha Kappa Rho may not know the historical account behind the modern AKRHO seal that has been used by countless chapters worldwide for more than two decades.

According to testimonies from senior Skeptrons who witnessed this part of our history, the modern seal design was created in the year 2000 by Brod Michael “Mykez” Perez. This version of the seal was first used on fraternity shirts of USC Alpha Chapter and Rho Alpha Chapter in Cebu. From there, the design began circulating and eventually became the most widely used AKRHO seal globally.

However, despite its massive influence on the fraternity’s identity, proper recognition has rarely been given to its creator. Some even question its origin, but brods who were present during that era confirm that it was indeed Mykez Perez who designed this version of the seal.

Historical accounts also state that in 2001, Brod Michael “Mykez” Perez and Brod Ermin “Erwin” Yniesta produced the first bronze AKRHO keychain featuring the same seal. During that time, a legal document was signed near the Cebu Provincial Capitol affirming their authorship and intellectual rights to the design.

This post is not meant to create conflict, division, or claim superiority. Instead, it is shared to preserve historical accuracy and to give proper acknowledgment to our fellow Skeptrons who contributed to the legacy of our fraternity.
