Day 3: Renewable Energy in the Garden
Mr. Eric Hanquinet continued the tour by introducing the garden’s use of solar power as a renewable energy source. Participants observed how solar panels provide clean, sustainable energy to power the garden’s operations, highlighting the role of green technology in supporting eco-friendly spaces.

Day 2: Tour in the Garden
Participants were given an insightful tour of the Siit Arboretum Botanical Garden led by its President, Mr. Eric Hanquinet. They explored the wide variety of plant species, learned about native flora, and discovered the importance of botanical gardens in conservation, education, and sustainable land use.

Day 3: Climate Action
Concluding the 3-day camp, Mr. Carl Joel Tilos shared an eye-opening discussion concerning the World's current condition and climate.
Participants were grouped and tasked with identifying climate-related issues in their own communities. Each group developed and presented actionable plans to address these concerns, promoting proactive youth involvement in climate mitigation and local sustainability efforts.

Integrating Conservation on Life on Land through Theatre and Arts
Led by Mr. Benjie Kitay from YATTA, this session merged environmental education with creative expression. Participants explored conservation themes related to life on land through theatre and arts, using storytelling, visual art, and performance as powerful tools to advocate for the protection of ecosystems.

Day 2: Life Below Water
Facilitated by STEWaRDS from Silliman University’s Marine Biology department, this session focused on marine ecosystems. Participants explored the rich biodiversity beneath the seas and discussed key issues affecting water environments, emphasizing the need for marine conservation and sustainable practices.

Day 2: Bird Watching
Under the guidance of Mr. Apolinario Cariño, participants observed and documented a variety of bird species observed in SABGI, Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental. They sketched, classified, and named the birds, gaining a greater appreciation of local biodiversity and the importance of habitat conservation.

Day 1: Life on Land
Youth participants tackled pressing ecological issues by engaging in an interactive activity where they matched specific ecological services to various real-life scenarios. Using a simulated budgeting system headed by Ms. Irish Udtohan, participants allocated funds to purchase these services, promoting a deeper understanding of the value of nature's contributions to people.

SPUD Paniksik Society Ends 8-year Hiatus: Reviving LYBP
After 8 long years, the SPUD Paniksik Society held the fourth Lingganay Youth Biodiversity Camp at Siit Arboretum Botanical Garden (SABGI) on March 21-23, 2024.
This event was realized through the help of the Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) under the initiative.
A total of 20 participants coming from various schools in Sibulan, Dumaguete, Zamboanguita, Dauin, Bayawan, Sta. Catalina, and Basay joined the 3-day camp.
This camp targeted three Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs) including SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water, and SDG 15: Life On Land.
By the end of the session, the participants were instructed to make an Earth pledge which is categorized by promising to take an action geared on the conservation and protection of the Earth.
Along with that, they are grouped to create an action plan to start an initiative on their respective localities targeting a problem concerning the aforementioned SDGs.

The SPUD Paniksik Society of St. Paul University Dumaguete hosted a Data Consolidation Workshop on January 29, 2025, at the SPUD MAT Conference Room. Participants included representatives from Youth Advocates Through Theater Arts (YATTA) and their consultant, Ms. Dessa Quesada Palm; members of the SPUD Paniksik Society; and Mr. Apolinario Cariño, representative for the Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE).
Facilitated by Mrs. Irish Udtohan, the workshop focused on consolidating baseline data from a previous SPUD Paniksik Society survey and YATTA's project evaluation results using Microsoft Excel and Jamovi.

After 8 long years, the SPUD Paniksik Society is excited to announce that the Lingganay Youth Biodiversity Camp is back!
After the Baseline Data Gathering held last December 10-13, 2024, last Saturday, January 18, 2025, the site visitation was conducted. This year's camp will be held at Siit Arboretum Botanical Garden Inc (SAGBI) in Siation, Negros Oriental.

On December 10-13, 2024, the SPUD Paniksik Society conducted baseline data gathering involving SGD 13, SGD 14, and SGD 15 to establish a starting point for module development for the Lingganay Youth Biodiversity Camp '25.
The preliminary survey respondents included Tanjay Legislated High School, St. Paul University Dumaguete, and Negros Oriental Provincial High School.
