Earlier today, August 28, 2026, BMC 1978 alumna Cristina “Kitty” Sollesta-Taniguchi was conferred the 2026 Outstanding Sillimanian Award in the field of Visual Arts, recognizing her distinguished contributions and achievements in the arts.

Indeed, Maskomistas are equipped to tell stories and are across various fields and creative disciplines. From journalism and communication to the visual arts and beyond, our alumni continue to carry the spirit of storytelling wherever their paths lead them.

Earlier today, the College of Mass Communication proudly joined the Parada Sillimaniana 2026, highlighting three defining eras in our story—from the beginnings of Philippine television in 1953, to the founding of the College in 1966, and the voices of resistance during the Martial Law era of 1972.

As we celebrate 60 years of telling stories that matter, we also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our alumnus, Sir Toto Marquez, for generously sponsoring the CMC support vehicle for this year’s Parada.
