The holidays are brighter when everyone shares the work. Cooking, preparing, and caring for the celebration is not only womenโs responsibilityโevery dish prepared together, every task shared, turns stress into joy and moments into memories.
This season, letโs embrace shared responsibilityโbecause together, we make the celebrations warmer, the laughter louder, and the love deeper.

Sabi nga: If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. โจ
This 'reunion season', letโs unwrap more than presents. Letโs open our hearts with kindness, respect, and understandingโgifts we can share with everyone around us.
In our relationships, letโs create safe, inclusive, and caring spaces, remembering that each person may be quietly carrying their own silent battles and untold struggles.
When we choose empathy over judgment, every gathering becomes more than a celebration, it becomes a moment filled with joy, gratitude, and heartfelt connection.

How inclusive is the Philippinesโ progress toward gender equality and social inclusion?
A new PIDS study looks at how women, persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples, and other marginalized groups experience multiple, intersecting forms of exclusion. Despite legal frameworks like the Magna Carta of Women and the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, gaps remain in education, employment, and access to services.
The study recommends reforms in budgeting, legislation, institutional capacity, and data systems to ensure that development policies reach those who are often โinvisibleโ in national statistics.

Representation matters.
Yet, only 1% of countries ensure women with disabilities have a seat in local government.
This must change.

As part of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, the Negros Oriental State University GAD Center hosted an engaging and child-friendly Anti-Violence Awareness Activity on December 12, 2025, at the NORSU Sports and Cultural Complex.
Day care children from select centers across Dumaguete City participated in an interactive learning session led by Prof. Jonah Mavel and Prof. Riza Mae T. Abellanosa, who shared age-appropriate lessons on personal safety, respect, and recognizing safe vs. unsafe behaviors. Through stories, activities, and guided discussions, the session aimed to empower young children with early awareness and help build a safer, more caring community for all.
Together, let us continue working toward a violence-free future, starting with our youngest learners.
