The English Language Department of the Makati Science High School is located at Room 607, 6th Floor of the new Makati Science High School building, Kalayaan Ave., Brgy. Cembo, City of Makati. The Department is composed of 10 competitive and passionate language and literature teachers and one head teacher. The new head teacher is Mrs. Gizelle Villanueva-Laud, who succeeded Mr. Alixander Haban Escote after he was promoted as an education program specialist at the Division Office.

Congratulations, Anna Agudo (Grade9 SPFL-Nihongo student), for being part of the group that won First Place in the Jingle Making Contest of the Japanese Speakers Forum (Philippines) 2018 held at the Robbinsdale Residences in Quezon City on Jan 24-26. Congratulations also to Mrs Lourdes Maglalang, Anna's mentor and Nihongo I teacher.

Congratulations to the newly crowned Mr and Miss English 2017, RAFAEL MONTINOLA and MANDEE MALLARI; 1st Runner Ups, LG ASEJO and DENISE SUEMITH; and 2nd Runner Ups, JAIME EVANGELISTA and JOSEA LAZARTE!
The English Language Department and the English Club would like to thank the Mr Samuel Bulan and the entire faculty and staff of the Makati Science High School, judges (Mr Alixander Escote, Miss Kathreene Dadero, Mr Jaycon Yaneza, Mr Clifford Cruz, and Mr Sean Paulino), and our sponsors for the support. Also thank you and congratulations to the rest of the candidates and their parents.

CONGRATULATIONS to Princess Vinia Putulin and Antonio Rafael Florece, both Grade 11 students, for bringing the 2nd consecutive championship trophy in the Division Cosplay Contest at the Division of Makati Library Hub, November 28, 2017. Also, congratulations to Leila Feliciano and Joella Dimaculangan, both Grade 10, for winning FIRST PLACE (Filipino Category) and SECOND PLACE (English Category), respectively, in the Division Poetry Writing Contest.
Mrs Maria Del Socorro Leonida, the Makati Science High School teacher librarian, coached the cosplay and English poetry writing contestants, while Mr Jayfel Balingasa for the Filipino poetry writing contestant.

DISCLAIMER: TEATRO MAKATINO, the Actors Guild of the Makati Science High School, is NOT the same as the ILUSYON, the theater guild being organized just recently. TEATRO MAKATINO is spearheaded by the English Language Department with Mrs Jenny Olinares and Mr Roel Cyrus Magpantay as the advisers, while ILUSYON is by the Filipino Language Department with Mr Jayfel Balingasa as adviser. The idea of fusing the two groups is welcome for consideration. Please be guided accordingly.
