Magsisimula ang SY 2020-2021 ngayong Agosto 24 sa pamamagitan ng blended learning, ngunit hindi pahihintulutan ng Pangulo ang face-to-face classes hangga't wala pang bakuna upang hindi mailagay sa panganib ang kalusugan at buhay ng mga mag-aaral at mga g**o. Kung darating ang inaasahang bakuna ngayong Setyembre, maaari namang ipagpatuloy ang limited face-to-face learning sa mga piling paaralan sa Enero 2021.

"Children's right to education must be protected. We affirm the global belief that schools are not only places of learning. They provide social protection, nutrition, health, and emotional support that are a life security for disadvantaged learners. Education is an essential strategy to reopen the economy. The sooner we bring back the Filipino youth to school, the sooner we can start rebuilding for a stronger Philippines, post-pandemic."
