The NORSU Social Science Department would like to congratulate Dr. Justin Jose A. Bulado, Department Chairperson, for successfully delivering a lecture titled “Andres Bonifacio: Contrasting Life and Legacy with Dr. Jose Rizal” during the celebration of Bonifacio Day, 30 November 2025.
The event was sponsored by the Knights of Rizal, Negros Oriental Chapter. After his lecture, Dr. Bulado was conferred the Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) by the KoR Negros Oriental in recognition of his efforts to help the Filipino people deepen their understanding of Rizal’s relevance and Philippine history today.
As a department, we take pride in Dr. Bulado’s continued commitment to scholarship, public service, and nation-building—values that reflect the very ideals of the heroes he teaches.

The paper they presented is based on the terminal report of an extension project conducted in Brgy. Cadawinonan, Dumaguete City, last year.

The NORSU Social Science Department congratulates 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐀. 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐨 for serving as the guest lecturer at the “2nd Batanong Rizal sa Bayawan” Leadership Training. This event was spearheaded by the Bayawan City Youth Development Office in partnership with the Knights of Rizal Bayawan Chapter.
In his lecture, Dr. Bulado emphasized on the role of the youth in achieving Rizal’s ideal society—focusing on how national interest should outweigh personal interest among the Filipino people. He also warns of calls for a “revolution” when the reason behind it is brought about by personal aims and sense of vindictiveness instead of the welfare of the nation or the common good.
Here’s to the future leaders! May they embody the true essence of leadership and undoubtedly be the hope of our country!

These chapters are part of Dr. Bulado's list of publications on Philippine history especially during World War II. His steadfast commitment to paving the path for World War II history is truly a feat worthy of admiration. Congratulations once again, Dr. Bulado!
