STUDENTS ARE SATISFIED WITH THE NORSU COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

The KONSULTAHAN: Hearing The Student's Voices has received 558(70.2%) satisfactory responses to the COVID-19 protocols implemented inside the campus.

According to a respondent the school efficiently implemented “social distancing, temperature [checking]... [and even] put some marks on the floor” to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus.

The survey also showed that 839 (98.5%) respondents are vaccinated and 153(18.3%) out of the 839 are fully vaccinated with booster.

AMID FINANCIAL CHALLENGES 72% OF THE STUDENT BODY IS READY FOR LIMITED FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

In a survey conducted by SGDC-II STRAW Committee in partnership with The NORSUnian through google forms, KONSULTAHAN: Hearing the Students’ Voices, 619 (72%) respondents out of the 868 respondents signified that they are prepared to participate in the limited face-to-face classes despite financial Challenges.
When asked about their financial capacity 603 (70.1%) respondents answered that their family’s monthly income is less than 12,000 pesos, 177 (20.6%) answered that it is between 12,000 to 14,000 pesos, while 62 (7.2%) answered it is between 24,000 to 48,000 pesos. The remaining 18 (2.1%) have a family monthly income between 48,000 to 241,000 and above.

One of the respondents has clearly expressed their limited financial capacity and said, “I think it would be hard for my parents to support me financially, but they will still find a way to support me for my upcoming face-to-face classes.”
Another respondent explicitly shared the hardships faced due to the limited face-to-face classes. “Since I stoped working, basta lisod kinabuhi pobre ma'am. Maulaw ka mangayo sa imo parents since miskan sila wala sad but I need to stop working kay og dli mahagbong napod mas madugay og graduate og maka graduate”, said the respondent.

In order to support their study financially, 127 (14.8%) responded that they have a scholarship. While 154 (17.9%) are working students.
The study also showed the preparedness of the student in their housing accessibility. Five-hundred sixty-five (65.7%) responded that they have a place in Dumaguete City.
