𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 2026

The Foundation University Guidance Center, in collaboration with the Office of Research and Extension Services led by Mrs. Lilia P. Angub, conducted a talk entitled, “𝐀𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧, 𝐀𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧: 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐚 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐤 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐠-𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐨,” in partnership with the DSWD Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The activity was conducted in the barangays of Palinpinon, West Balabag, Balugo, East Balabag, Liptong, and Lunga, reaching 4Ps beneficiaries and community members through discussions on child protection, children's rights, and the prevention of abuse.

This aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: (1) 𝐒𝐃𝐆 3: 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠: by supporting the mental, emotional, and social well-being of children and families through awareness and prevention of abuse; (2) 𝐒𝐃𝐆 4: 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: by providing participants with knowledge and skills to make informed decision-making and positive parenting practices; and (3) 𝐒𝐃𝐆 16: 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: by encouraging communities to take an active role in safeguarding children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Foundation University strengthened its efforts to advance sustainable development and global citizenship through a two-day Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Workshop held on June 8–9, 2026, at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall. The workshop was facilitated by Brian Joseph Bango of the United Nations Development Programme.

Carrying the theme “Global Goals, Local Impact: Mainstreaming the SDGs in Foundation University,” the workshop aims to strengthen awareness and understanding of the United Nations SDGs and explore how they can be integrated into the university’s research, extension services, and daily institutional practices.

Administrators, principals, college deans, department heads, selected faculty and staff members, and student leaders participated in the event. Through meaningful discussions and interactive activities, participants identified existing university SDG programs and developed actionable strategies to expand these initiatives.

At Foundation University, we pursue excellence with purpose. Every action contributes to a more sustainable future. We measure our success not only by academic accomplishments but also by how we contribute to the growth and well-being of the communities we serve.
