๐ฃ Are you aware of what are the possible complications that will happen if OBESITY is left untreated?
๐ฃ Obesity is a complex medical condition that can lead to various complications affecting multiple systems in the body. Here are some of the possible complications associated with obesity:
1. Cardiovascular problems: Obesity increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. It can lead to conditions such as high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol levels, atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), and coronary artery disease.
2. Type 2 diabetes: Obesity is a significant risk factor for developing type 2 diabetes. Excess weight can interfere with insulin function and lead to insulin resistance, resulting in high blood sugar levels.
3. Respiratory difficulties: Obesity can cause respiratory problems, including shortness of breath, reduced lung function, and sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by interruptions in breathing during sleep, which can have serious health consequences.
4. High Blood Pressure: Overactivation of the sympathetic nervous system, activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, changes in adipose-derived cytokines, insulin resistance, and structural and functional changes to the kidneys are only a few of the complicated mechanisms by which obesity results in hypertension.
5. Dementia in Older Adults: The hippocampus is the area of the brain that is associated with memory. Increased fat around the belly/waist can shrink the hippocampus. As it shrinks, memory function can be affected and the risk of developing dementia or Alzheimer's disease is increased.
6. Mental health issues: Obesity can have psychological and emotional consequences. It may lead to low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, body image issues, and social isolation.
7. Cancer: Certain types of cancer, including breast, colorectal, endometrial, kidney, and pancreatic cancer, have been linked to obesity. The exact mechanisms behind this association are still being researched.
๐ฃ It's important to note that not all individuals with obesity will experience all of these complications, and the severity can vary from person to person. However, maintaining a healthy weight through a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and appropriate medical management can help reduce the risk of these complications and improve overall health.

HOW DOES OBESITY AFFECTS THE BODY?
Obesity's negative effects go well beyond physical weight and associated health issues. Low self-esteem and a higher incidence of mental health issues are two possible adverse consequences of obesity. Obesity-related social attitudes can vary from avoidance to blatant prejudice and bullying.
Obesity's negative impacts on physical health have a long history. Up to 300,000 early fatalities due to obesity are reported to occur each year in the United States alone, according to Stanford Hospital (2010). The health impacts of obesity range from illnesses that are life-threatening to backaches and joint discomfort. The list of illnesses linked to obesity is shown below. This list is by no means complete; sadly, there are numerous and varied repercussions of obesity on physical health care.

๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐?
According to the World Health Organization, the fundamental cause of obesity is an energy imbalance between calories consumed and calories expended.
Globally, there has been an increased intake of energy-dense foods that are high in fat and sugars; and an increase in physical inactivity due to the increasingly sedentary nature of many forms of work, changing modes of transportation and increasing urbanization.
Changes in dietary and physical activity patterns are often the result of environmental and societal changes associated with the development and lack of supportive policies in sectors such as health, agriculture, transport, urban planning, environment, food processing, distribution, marketing, and education.

According to the Worldโs Health Organization (WHO), overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. A body mass index (BMI) over 25 is considered overweight, and over 30 is obese.
Obesity is one side of the double burden of malnutrition, and today more people are obese than underweight in every region except sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.
