Remembering the founding anniversary of Negros Oriental Trade School (NOTS) On December 03, 1927.

The university traces its roots back to 𝟏𝟗𝟎𝟕 as a small, intermediate-level woodworking class at the Negros Oriental Provincial School.

On 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑, 𝟏𝟗𝟐𝟕, it was ordered to be separated as a secondary-level trade school, officially named the Negros Oriental Trade School (NOTS).

On 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟔, 𝟏𝟗𝟓𝟔, by virtue of Republic Act No. 1579, it became the East Visayan School of Arts and Trades (EVSAT).

On 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟎, 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟑, EVSAT merged with other institutions to become the Central Visayas Polytechnic College (CVPC) through Batas Pambansa No. 401.

On 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟒, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo signed Republic Act No. 9299, converting CVPC into Negros Oriental State University (NORSU).

The anniversary celebration is an annual event that honors the university’s long history and academic excellence.

The Department of Communication held a tribute to Thea Espora, a beloved 2nd Year Student who passed away due to Bagyong Tino, during the 9th Day Rosary today at the College of Arts and Sciences AVR.
