Three meaningful days of learning, sharing, research, collaboration, and inspiration came to a close as the ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (๐๐๐๐) held its 57th International Convention on August 27โ29, 2026, at the Lyceum of the Philippines University.
Proudly representing PAGE XVIII โ Negros Island Region (NIR) were members of its leadership team, led by the ๐๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐๐๐ง๐ญ, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ข๐๐ก๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐ง ๐. ๐๐๐๐ง๐, who had the privilege of delivering the Synthesis Speech, bringing together the significant insights, reflections, and lessons shared throughout the first day if the convention.
Joining her were ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐ข๐จ of USLS Bacolod, ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ, who presented his research through a poster presentation; ๐๐ซ. ๐๐จ๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐๐๐ซ of CHMSU, ๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฒ who served as one of the judges for the paper presentations; and ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ฒ๐๐ณ๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ง, ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ซ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ, who actively participated in the convention and contributed to the meaningful academic exchanges.
More than a gathering of graduate educators, the convention provided an important reminder that quality must remain at the heart of graduate education. Quality assurance is not simply about compliance with standardsโit is a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, innovation, and excellence.
The sessions and exchanges emphasized the importance of strengthening graduate programs through relevant and responsive curricula, competent and committed faculty, meaningful research, robust student support systems, effective governance, evidence-based decision-making, and continuous assessment of outcomes.
We were also reminded that quality assurance should not be viewed as a destination or a checklist. It is an ongoing commitment to asking ourselves: Are our programs relevant? Are our graduates equipped for the challenges of the future? Are our research outputs creating meaningful impact? And are our systems continuously improving to serve our learners and communities better?
Perhaps one of the most valuable lessons from the convention is that quality is a shared responsibility. It requires the collective commitment of academic leaders, faculty, researchers, students, and institutions to uphold standards while remaining open to innovation and change.
As PAGE XVIIIโNIR returns to Negros Island, we carry home not only new knowledge and wonderful memories, but also a renewed commitment to quality, relevance, integrity, and excellence in graduate education.
Better. Bolder. Fiercer.
Together, let us continue building graduate education that does not simply meet standards but sets higher standards, creates meaningful impact, and transforms lives and communities. ๐๐
