Speaker’s Profile:

𝓙𝓸𝓮𝔂 𝓐𝓷𝓭𝓻𝓮𝔀 𝓛𝓾𝓬𝓲𝓭𝓸 𝓢𝓪𝓷𝓽𝓸𝓼 is a trained sociocultural linguist and writes primarily in the areas of language and gender/sexuality, lavender (q***r/trans) linguistics, linguistic/semiotic landscape, and (critical) discourse analysis. His research interrogates the formation of gender identities in place/space (e.g., S*x tourism places) and its intersection with other lived experiences. Recently, he pays interest in strategic storytelling discourses and applied sociolinguistics to language education, specifically on the assemblages of meaning-making processes in EMI contexts. He draws his analytical ideas from multitude of theoretical frameworks, including q***r theory, multi-modality, and intersectionality. He holds a straight PhD (a 4-year program which he finished in 3 years) in English as an International Language from Chulalongkorn University under the ASEAN Doctoral Scholarship. Currently, he is assistant professor at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
