On May 5, 2026, the 𝐆𝐄𝐎𝐋 𝟒𝟎𝟓 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 waving the theme "𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑮𝒆𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔: 𝑨 𝑶𝒏𝒆-𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕” gathered attendees at Tiptop Hotel Dumaguete.

This event exalted a platform for 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦-𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 through the insightful lectures and subsequent open forum from distinguished speakers: 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗣. 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗽𝗮 and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘂𝗹𝗳𝗼 𝗥𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗼.

𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 | The Geology and Physics Department successfully held its 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 👷‍♀️ at Plaza Maria Luisa Suites Inn yesterday, April 8, 2026, celebrating a key milestone for students as they prepare for their transition into professional and field-based experiences.

The program commenced with the introduction of the Guest Speaker by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧. 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗼𝗴, Chairperson of the Geology and Physics Department, followed by an inspiring message from 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗚. 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗮, Vice President for Administration and Finance. After the Guest Speaker, the highlight of the event—the 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠—took place, marking a symbolic step into the field for the students. This was followed by an inspirational message delivered by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗦. 𝗖𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗼, CAS Dean. An acknowledgment was given by 𝗘𝗹𝘆𝘇𝗮 𝗖. 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮, GSS President, and the ceremony was formally concluded by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗼.
