‎Children are not only the hope of our future, they are the agents of change right here and now—they are the ones who are capable of shaping our present and creating positive change.
‎
‎On March 4 and 5, 2026, the Child-Led Awareness Raising on Community Disaster Preparedness was conducted and spearheaded by Sidney M. Mandane and Patricia Rhaine R. Osis (SSLG President and Secretary), held at Donsol Vocational High School–Gogon Annex. It is an impactful activity that was part of Project RECEIVE, implemented by FACE, Inc. in partnership with Educo Philippines. It aims to empower young leaders in building disaster-resilient communities.

‎Through this initiative, young student leaders of DVHS-Gogon Annex were able to acquire knowledge about community disaster preparedness, enhancing their leadership skills and driving practical preparedness actions in their school and community. These young advocates showed their maturity, creativity, and passion as they took charge of every hands-on session. They led with courage and have shown confidence in preparing for disasters. This proves that through a well-coordinated initiative, we build a safer, more connected communities where everyone knows—especially children—how to protect themselves and support one another.

‎We extend our deepest gratitude to FACE, Inc., Educo Philippines, our School Head, Sir Daryl R. Orenciada; SDRRM Alternate Coordinator, Sir Christian G. Avisado; our SSLG Adviser, Ma’am Danica F. Herrera; and the participants for making this event a success possible.
‎
‎We look forward to more student-led initiatives that focus on child safety and community disaster preparedness. The success of this roll-out activity confirms that when we equip children with knowledge and leadership opportunities, we create a firm and long-term foundation for resilience.

‎The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) officers actively participated in the symposium titled “Empowering Families and Communities in Disaster Risk Reduction Management” under Project S.A.F.E (Students Advocating for Family Empowerment in Disaster Preparedness), held on February 27, 2026, a meaningful initiative focused on strengthening disaster preparedness and community resilience. Through their attendance and engagement, the SSLG officers showed their commitment to responsible student leadership, gaining valuable insights and knowledge that will help them promote safety awareness and preparedness within the school and community.
