DNCHS sparks innovation at DSTFRO 2025

STEM students of Donsol National Comprehensive High School (DNCHS) showcased their ingenuity and passion for Science and Innovation during the recently concluded Division Science and Technology Fair & Robotics Olympics (DSTFRO), held from October 6-8, 2025, at Bulan National High School.

With the theme, “Harnessing the Unknown: Powering the Future Through Science and Innovation,” the three-day event gathered over 200 student researchers from schools across the division of Sorsogon Province.

The opening program commenced with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by the BNHS Rondalla, followed by the opening remarks delivered by Ms. Roselle G. Talabucan, ASP 11 SHS. As well as a welcome message given by Dr. Johnberk B. Evasco, Ph.D, School Principal III of Bulan National High School.

Ms. Maria Charlene D. Dipad then facilitated the Presentation of Participants, while the inspirational message was delivered by Dr. Jose L. Doncillo, CESO V, schools division superintendent. The program was also graced by the presence of Hon. Chezka Mae B. Robles, acting municipal mayor of Bulan, alongside other distinguished guests, educators, facilitators, and Technical Working Group (TWG) members.

The event was spearheaded by the Overall Chairpersons, Ms. Michelle H. Guadamor, Mr. Johnbert K. Evasco, and Ms. Roselle G. Talabucan, in coordination with the Committee on Program, led by Mr. Rey Eugene G. Lee and Mr. Ermie G. Guan.

The Board of Judges and Division Scientific Review Committee (DSRC) included respected school heads and teachers from across the division, including Ma’am Michelle H. Guadamor (EPS, SDO-CID), Sir Ronald L. Lomerio (SHS Teacher, Donsol NCHS), Mary Jeane B. Castillo (Principal, Salvacion NHS), Joland L. Dellomas (Principal, Sablayan NHS), Edna G. Fajardo (Principal, Matnog NHS), and Nerissa A. Funelas (HT-III, Casiguran TVS).

DNCHS fielded a strong delegation of student researchers who competed in various categories, including Physical Science, Robotics and Intelligent Machines, and Mathematics & Computational Science, as well as in the Robotics Olympics Sumobot Competition.

After the three-day rigorous competition, here are the triumphant student researchers in different categories:

AND THE GAME BEGINS!
DNCHS opens Intramurals 2025

Donsol National Comprehensive High School (DNCHS) celebrated the opening of the Intramurals 2025 held at the DNCHS campus on September 18.

With the theme, "Championing Mind, Power, and Health Thru Excellence and Unity in Sports," the DNCHS Intramurals 2025 aims to showcase the talent and sportsmanship of their student
athletes in a 2-day celebration of sporting events.

The Intramurals began with the athletic parade of grade levels, led by the DNCHS Marching Warriors.

Afterwards, the program started with the Philippine National Anthem, conducted by Mrs. Sarah Grace C. Bermas, Teacher-III. It was followed by a prayer from Mrs. Mary Grace H. Bonaobra, Teacher-I. Then, an opening remarks was given by Mrs. Elenor M. Obligar, Principal III, as well as a message was shared by Mr. Franszhel T. Razo, OIC-PSDS.

Following was an intermission number from the DNCHS Strings Ensemble with their rendition of the OPM song, Nandito Ako. They were trained by Mrs. Jazmin Jovie T. Malto, Teacher III, MAPEH Department.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Mary Ann J. Rognao, Teacher II, MAPEH Coordinator, presented this year's participants from Grade 7 to
Grade 12.

This was followed by the ceremony of lighting torch carried out by Mary M. Abliter, a 2024 Bicol Meet Qualifier. Another 2024 Bicol Meet Qualifier, Lillian Advincula, led the oath of sportsmanship. While Ms. Sherra Mae R. Alvarado, Teacher I, led the oath of officiating officials.

The games started with the flag raising competition participated by the muses and escorts of each grade level. The Grade 12 raised their flag first, then the Grade 11, Grade 10, Grade 9,
Grade 8, and the last to raise it was Grade 7.

Then the much-anticipated mass demonstration of the Palarong Pambansa Dance was performed by the participating grade levels.

Finally, Sir Johnden A. Cadag, T-I, delivered his acknowledgement as the school's sports coordinator.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Here are the results of the recently concluded DNCHS Journalympics: School-based Press Conference 2025.

The said event was conducted last September 10, 2025 at Donsol National Comprehensive High School and was joined by more than 100 aspiring campus journalists.

It was spearheaded by the School Paper Advisers, Ms. Jenica N. Ombao and Mr. John Peter G. Marcoleta; and facilitated by the DNCHS Language Department, headed by Mrs. Elenor M. Obligar, Principal III, Mr. Zander J. Macandog, Head Teacher VI, and Mrs. Marla A. Ataiza, Master Teacher II (the Consultant of the School Paper Publication).
