GIMAGAAN, DONSOL, SORSOGON | August 8, 2026 β Despite the rainy weather, graduates from different batches of Donsol Vocational High SchoolβGimagaan Annex came together for the schoolβs 3rd Alumni Homecoming held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, celebrating friendship, memories, and their enduring connection with their alma mater.
The celebration began with a Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Janus, offering the alumni, school personnel, and members of the community an opportunity to give thanks and seek blessings for the homecoming and the continued growth and success of the school community.
Following the Mass, alumni from various graduating batches gathered to reconnect with former classmates, teachers, and friends. The homecoming provided a meaningful venue for reminiscing about their school experiences and celebrating the lasting friendships and memories formed during their years at DVHSβGimagaan Annex.
The activity was held in time for the Barangay Gimagaan Fiesta on August 10, a significant occasion when the community becomes more active as residents, families, and former community members return to their hometown to celebrate the fiesta with their loved ones.
Even with the rain, the different batches of alumni demonstrated their continued support and affection for their alma mater. Their presence highlighted the strong bond that continues to exist between the school, its graduates, and the wider Gimagaan community.
Notably, the Alumni Homecoming was conducted on a Saturday, ensuring that the celebration would not interfere with the schoolβs regular instructional schedule. Holding the activity outside the regular school days helped protect valuable instructional time and prevent disruption to the teaching-learning process of the learners.
More than a reunion, the 3rd Alumni Homecoming became a celebration of faith, friendship, memories, and communityβa reminder that the connection between a school and its graduates continues long after graduation.
As Barangay Gimagaan prepares for its annual fiesta, the successful gathering of DVHSβGimagaan Annex alumni likewise reflects the importance of coming home, reconnecting with oneβs roots, and contributing to the continuing legacy of the school and the community.
Rain may have accompanied the celebration, but it could never wash away the memories that bring our alumni home.
