📢Building a Safer and More Resilient School Community!

As part of the observance of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) with the theme, “Naghahanda at Kumikilos tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas,” Cardona Elementary School successfully conducted the installation of its School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Information Corner, posting of the School Evacuation Plan, and orientation of learners on the school’s hazard map and emergency evacuation routes.

Through these initiatives, our learners become more aware of disaster risks, emergency procedures, and the importance of preparedness. TESDA Learners Extend Service Through Electrical Wiring Troubleshooting at Cardona Elementary School

As part of the celebration of the 52nd National Nutrition Month, Cardona Elementary School officially kicked off the Healthy Baon Challenge today, encouraging learners to bring nutritious and balanced meals and snacks to school as part of their daily routine.

The activity aims to promote healthy eating habits among learners by encouraging them to choose nutritious baon that supports their growth, learning, and overall well-being. Teachers highlighted the importance of consuming healthy, affordable, and locally available foods while reducing the intake of highly processed and sugary snacks.

PNP Conducts Oplan BES at Cardona Elementary School, Promotes Child Safety and Protection

Cardona Elementary School warmly welcomed the personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), (Abra PPO, 1st Abra PMFC, Dolores MPS, Abra Police Forensic Group, 113SAC, 11SAB Abra Special Action Force) as they conducted Oplan BES (Bisita Eskwela Strong), a meaningful initiative aimed at promoting school safety, strengthening police-community partnership, and fostering a secure and child-friendly learning environment.

The PNP personnel were warmly received by Dr. Ederlita Joy L. Gayban, MT-I, Officer-in-Charge School Head, together with Cardona ES teaching and nonteaching staff, who expressed her sincere appreciation for the PNP’s unwavering commitment to protecting and educating learners through programs that promote safety, awareness, and responsible citizenship.

As part of the activity, the PNP personnel conducted engaging and informative discussions on Good Touch and Bad Touch, Children’s Rights and Responsibilities, Anti-Bullying, and Anti-Kidnapping Awareness. Through interactive discussions, the learners gained valuable knowledge on protecting themselves, respecting the rights of others, recognizing unsafe situations, and seeking help from trusted adults whenever necessary. These important topics equipped the learners with practical knowledge to help them stay safe both in school and in their communities.

To make the visit even more meaningful, the PNP personnel distributed gifts to the learners, bringing joy and excitement while demonstrating their genuine care and support for the children.

Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan,” and in compliance with the Unnumbered School Memorandum, s. 2026, Cardona Elementary School conducted a Zumba Dance activity alongside the dissemination of important July health-related announcements for learners, teachers, and school personnel.

The Zumba session encouraged participants to engage in regular physical activity as an essential part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Cardona Elementary School Prepares School Garden Site for Gulayan sa Paaralan Program

As part of the celebration of Nutrition Month, Cardona Elementary School successfully conducted today, Saturday, the preparation of its designated land area for the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP), reaffirming the school’s commitment to promoting proper nutrition, food security, and environmental stewardship among its learners.

The activity brought together various stakeholders in a remarkable display of unity and community partnership. With the leadership and full support of Barangay Cardona Chairman Ricardo Britos, barangay officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials, barangay tanods, PTA members, teachers, parents, and school personnel actively participated in uprooting, cleaning, and removing unwanted weeds in the area to prepare it for vegetable production.

Cardona Elementary School successfully conducted the Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping activity in line with DepEd Order No. 23, s. 2015.

Together with our teachers and the School DRRM Committee, our learners identified potential hazards, assessed school safety, and helped update the school's Hazard Map. This activity strengthened disaster preparedness, promoted shared responsibility, and empowered our learners to become advocates of a safer and more resilient school community.

Cardona Elementary School Joins Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony in Commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award

Cardona Elementary School proudly participated in the Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony held on July 6, 2026, in observance of the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award. The activity brought together the school's teaching and non-teaching personnel, along with the learners, in a meaningful display of patriotism, unity, and respect for the nation's sovereignty.

The ceremony began with the raising of the Philippine flag, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the recitation of the Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas. Learners and school personnel stood in solidarity as they joined schools across the country in commemorating this significant milestone in Philippine history.

As part of the program, Mrs. Ederlita Joy L. Gayban delivered a short message highlighting the importance of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award. She explained that the landmark ruling, issued by an international arbitral tribunal under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), affirmed the Philippines' maritime entitlements in the West Philippine Sea and clarified the rights of coastal states under international law.

Mrs. Gayban emphasized that while learners may still be young, it is important for them to understand the value of respecting the rule of law, promoting peace, and demonstrating love for the country. She encouraged everyone to become responsible and informed citizens who uphold truth, unity, and patriotism in their daily lives. Preparing for Quality Assessment through LAC Session

As the First Summative Test approaches, Cardona Elementary School conducted a Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session on DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026 to strengthen teachers’ understanding of the revised classroom assessment and grading guidelines.

The session provided an opportunity for teachers to revisit the assessment standards, discuss the proper development and administration of summative tests, and ensure that assessment practices are aligned with the updated DepEd policies. Through collaborative learning and professional discussions, teachers enhanced their readiness to conduct fair, valid, and learner-centered assessments.
