AMSC-ROTCU conducts 3rd Military Science Meeting on Leadership and Civic Responsibility

Brgy. Bagoaingud, Ditsa-an Ramain, Lanao del Sur — The Adiong Memorial State College Reserve Officers' Training Corps Unit (AMSC-ROTCU) successfully convened its third official meeting for Military Science 1 (MS1) at the AMSC SLH Building on August 16, 2026.

The event featured an instructional session on leadership alongside practical community involvement exercises aimed at instilling civic responsibility in participating cadets. The activity was held under the supervision of COL Tante D Angaga PA (GSC), 1602 CDC Director, and guided by CPT Junaid B Saripada, Commandant of the AMSC-ROTCU.

In terms of field facilitation, administrative and field coordination were managed by SSg Elmer L Pescador PA, Admin NCO, together with Tactical NCOs and student cadet officers led by Cadet Col. Jamaloden C Musa (1CL), Corps Commander.

Sgt Aradawya E Marandacan PA (Res) delivered a comprehensive lecture on Military Leadership, focusing on core values such as, Integrity and Accountability, Strict Discipline, Effective Teamwork Leading by Example as the core lecture topic.

Following the classroom lecture, the cadets immediately transitioned into a campus cleaning initiative. This practical activity was designed to reinforce the values of teamwork, shared duty, and environmental responsibility on campus grounds.

The training activity was organized with full backing from key institution officials, including Dr. Sherifa Kadil Adiong, AMSC SUC President, and Sir Luis Siddick Adiong, Chief of Staff and ROTCU Coordinator. Through these regular instructional and practical sessions, the AMSC-ROTCU continues its mission to train disciplined, civic-minded future leaders grounded in honor, patriotism, and duty.

AMSC Research and Innovation Unit participates Modern Procurement Reform at RA 12009 ( ) Caravan

Davao City, Philippines — Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to institutional excellence and transparent governance, the Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC) Research and Innovation Unit actively participated in the Republic Act No. 12009 New Government Procurement Act (NGPA) Caravan held from August 11 to 13, 2026, at the Grand Regal Hotel in Davao City. Representing AMSC were dedicated Research Assistants Ma'am Omaidah Adiong and Ma'am Sohryah Jamel, who joined fellow procurement practitioners, government officials, and regional leaders in mastering the modernized framework under the newly enacted law.

The intensive three-day capacity-building caravan, carrying the official theme , was organized by the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB) and its Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO), in partnership with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and Mindanao State University - Maguindanao.

The opening day set a strong foundation with welcome remarks from MSU-Maguindanao Chancellor Dr. Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona, alongside messages of support from DBM Secretary Hon. Kim Robert C. De Leon and DBM Regional Director Hon. Akmad J. Usman. GPPB Recognized Trainer Engr. Ariel Lagmay delivered insightful lectures on the salient features, transitory provisions, and strategic planning procedures under RA 12009, which officially repeals the older RA 9184.

Focusing on modern operations, the second day detailed the comparative and newly introduced modes of public procurement, highlighted by sessions from Mr. Datu Mohammad Benito, CPA. PS-DBM Resource Speaker Dir. Rommel Rivera further emphasized the transition toward full electronic procurement and PhilGEPS integration, highlighting how end-to-end digitalization will elevate efficiency and transparency across government agencies.

The final day, led by Atty. Tareeq Yahya Timhar A. Radjaie, focused on contract implementation across goods, infrastructure, and consulting services, as well as protest mechanisms, dispute settlements, and strict sanction guidelines to safeguard state resources.

By equipping its personnel with first-hand expertise in RA 12009, the Research and Innovation Unit ensures that AMSC's upcoming research projects, grant acquisitions, and institutional initiatives will be executed with enhanced speed, compliance, and efficiency.

The proactive engagement of Ma'am Omaidah Adiong and Ma'am Sohryah Jamel reaffirms AMSC’s readiness to align its administrative procedures with the Bagong Pilipinas governance agenda, establishing the college as a forward-thinking and highly accountable academic institution.

Newly Elected AMSC SSG Officers take Oath Before CHED Commissioner Hon. Michelle Aguilar-Ong

Brgy. Bagoaingud, Ditsa-an Ramain, Lanao del Sur— In a milestone event for student leadership, the newly elected officers of the Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC) Supreme Student Government (SSG) officially took their oath of office on August 13, 2026, at the SLH Building.

The ceremony was personally administered by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Hon. Michelle Aguilar-Ong. The event brought together key educational leaders and delegates, including: Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, President of Universidad de Camarines Norte Dr. Victor Catigbe Cañezo Jr., President of Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) Bai Hasmin Ayunan Ebrahim, Board of Trustees member representing Congressman Jude A. Acidre of the Tingog Partylist Ms. Happy I. Pelayo, Executive Assistant from the Office of CHED Commissioner Ong

The oath-taking formally ushered in the new leadership team—comprising the SSG President, Vice President, and ten SSG Senators—as they officially assume their roles representing the AMSC student body.

This year’s ceremony marked a significant historic shift for AMSC. While previous SSG presidents took their oaths virtually via video conference, this batch became the first group of student officers to be sworn in face-to-face by a CHED Commissioner.

The opportunity arose following a College of Natural Resources and Ssutainability (CNRS) meeting regarding the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC). Recognizing the moment, Division of Student Affairs (DSA) Director Luis Siddick F. Adiong requested time with Commissioner Ong to allow the incoming officers to take their oath in person.

Though initially nervous about meeting the Commissioner, the student leaders embraced the unique honor. Following the formal swearing-in, Commissioner Ong hosted an open dialogue with the student leaders, focusing on their personal advocacies and vision for the campus.

Drawing from his background as an active Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) member, new SSG President Fahaman Tanggulman Hadji Jamil highlighted his focus on creating platforms for young people to build skills, express their talents, and actively contribute to community development.

On the other hand, new SSG Vice President Mohammad Raiz Sirad introduced his advocacy for campus cleanliness, championing a green and sustainable school environment. In response, Commissioner Ong shared her own experiences with zero-waste initiatives, offering practical strategies on overcoming challenges in waste management ex*****on.

The floor was also opened to address institutional matters and guidance on effective governance. Responding to a question from new SSG Senator Nassief M. Mariga on becoming effective leaders, Commissioner Ong emphasized the principle of servant leadership—reminding the officers that leadership is rooted in service rather than titles.

With regards to sports development & resource allocation, new SSG Senator Omar Pangcoga raised concerns regarding budget limits for AMSC student-athletes. University presidents in attendance offered strategic perspectives, suggesting that during budget constraints, funding should be strategically prioritized toward sports where the institution possesses strong competitive potential and established experience.

Discussions extended to specific concerns across the college's academic offerings, including the BS Agriculture, BS Forestry, and BS Fisheries programs, offering student representatives direct access to national leadership.

The visit concluded with a strong sense of momentum and optimism. Beyond completing a formal administrative process, the event bridged national educational leadership directly with student representatives. The AMSC community expressed its sincere gratitude to Commissioner Ong and the visiting delegation for their time, guidance, and active support of student governance.

CHED Commissioner Michelle Aguilar-Ong leads Tree-Planting Activity at Adiong Memorial State College

Bagoaingud, Ditsaan-Ramain, Lanao del Sur — In an initiative highlighting environmental sustainability and academic collaboration, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong led a ceremonial tree-planting activity during her official visit to Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC) on August 13, 2026.

As the key officials gathered for environmental stewardship, the initiative brought together prominent leaders from higher education and government sector to plant trees on the AMSC campus grounds spearheaded by CHED Commissioner Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong together with Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, President of University Camarines Norte; Dr. Victor Catigbe Cañezo Jr., President of Biliran Province State University (BiPSU); Bai Hasmin Ayunan Ebrahim, a Board of Trustees member representing Congressman Jude A. Acidre of Tingog Partylist and Ms. Happy I. Pelayo, Executive Assistant from Office of CHED Commissioner Ong.

Among the highlights of the visit was a “Cultural Welcome” in which the delegation was warmly received by AMSC administrators, staff, and students with a traditional cultural performance featuring dancers in authentic regional attire.

Another one is a “Tree-Planting Ceremony” in which CHED Officials personally planted Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) saplings on the campus lawn, symbolizing strong inter-institutional unity, shared responsibility for climate action, and dedication to a greener campus ecosystem.

For the purpose of strengthening alliances, the visit emphasized fostering deeper ties between CHED, partner state universities and colleges (SUCs), and legislative stakeholders to elevate higher education and community development in the region.

The tree-planting ceremony concluded with campus tours and bilateral discussions aimed at enhancing academic programs, infrastructure development, and student welfare at Adiong Memorial State College.

Project Aruga formally launched at Adiong Memorial State College

Brgy. Bagoaingud, Ditsaan-Ramain, Lanao del Sur— Commissioner Michelle Aguilar Ong led the formal launching of Project Aruga at Adiong Memorial State College, highlighting the importance of safe, child-friendly spaces that support early learning and development.

The activity brought together children, parents, State College personnel, and other participants in a colorful classroom setting designed for play-based learning. Most of the children engaged in age-appropriate activities using books, puzzles, toys, learning materials, and other classroom resources, while adults observed and supported the launching.

During the launching, Commissioner Ong interacted with the children and presented materials inside the learning area. The classroom featured alphabet, number, color, time, animal, and other educational displays, as well as bookshelves, activity tables, toys, and learning corners intended to encourage exploration and participation.

The formal launch also underscored the role of community and institutional cooperation in creating nurturing environments for young learners. Parents and members of the AMSC academic community joined the visit, with several participants documenting the occasion and taking part in the classroom activities.

Project Aruga’s launching to the State College provides an opportunity to strengthen initiatives centered on children’s welfare, learning, and holistic development. Through a welcoming environment and hands-on activities, the program seeks to make learning more engaging while reinforcing the shared responsibility of families, educators, and institutions in caring for early childhood education.
