ANDRES BONIFACIO COLLEGE CELEBRATES BRILLIANCE THROUGH ART

In honor of the 132nd Founder’s Anniversary of Andres Bonifacio College and in celebration of National Arts Month, Bonifacians once again showcase their talents as they mark such a special occasion with an exciting and fun-filled Pasidungog Festival—a 3-day event from February 5-7, packed with thrilling activities and contests that commemorate creativity, artistry, and the birth of Andres Bonifacio College's visionary founder, Amando Borja Amatong.

Held at the AB College green, booths built by different departments set the mood alive with their variety of entertaining games, foods, products, and other services that not only entice the students but visitors as well. A 5km parade with the AB College, Senior, Junior, and Elementary bands gave harmony to the 132nd Birth Anniversary of the school’s founder. Contests such as Literary Fests and Larong Pinoy paved the way for the departments’ representatives to display their excellence and competence in sports and literature. The afternoons are topped up with performances from the school’s departments, complete with singing, dancing, and acting that are definitely enjoyable and props the festive vibe.

Truly, Andres Bonifacio College celebrates brilliance through art and displays deep appreciation and honor for its founder, who not only graced its students today with the existence of the institution but is a sole reminder and embodiment of how creativity, a brilliant mind, and a love for education set a bright future for yourself and for others as well.

𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰'𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐮 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐕𝐎𝐓𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐘!

We student voters must approach our civic responsibility with consideration and discernment as the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections draw near. Each ballot cast carries the potential to shape the course of our communities, making it crucial for us to be well-informed about the candidates' platforms and track records. Prioritizing candidates who champion youth empowerment, education, and community development, ensures a brighter future for all. It is equally vital to advocate for inclusivity, seeking leaders who represent the diverse voices within our society. Through responsible voting and continued civic engagement, we can actively contribute to the growth and prosperity of our barangays, setting a powerful example for the leaders of tomorrow.

𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 | ABC Pol Sci bags gold in annual DRR and LG Whiz Masters

The Andres Bonifacio College Political Science students Philip James Bagafria, Analyn Tantio, and Frenchie Rose Gil was declared champion during the Annual DRR and LG Whiz Masters: A Battle of Wits in Disaster Risk Reduction and Local Government Code in the celebration of the 32nd Local Government Month conducted by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) of Region IX- Zamboanga Peninsula that was participated by 10 different schools across the region and was held at Universidad de Zamboanga last October 25, 2023.

To the Greatest Influencers of Andres Bonifacio College

Teacher, educator, instructor. They all are synonymous but they mean one thing: Influencers. The moment we stepped away from the comfort of home and delved into the wondrous journey of school, our teachers have been the cornerstone of our success. They helped mold us into who we are today, allowed us the opportunity to grow, and most importantly, guided us in our journey of servitude, not just to ourselves but to mankind.

With each passing minute in one four-walled room, we continue to be blessed with their intellect and their honed skills in teaching. They continue to strive to be the best educators for our sake, leaving behind pressing problems in their lives and continuing to give us their undivided attention. It is no easy feat to handle twenty to forty students in one setting. But alas, they are able to command the class with ease, carrying the knowledge they have gained and giving us the honor of comprehending a multitude of learnings that expand both understanding and skills. As the pioneer builders of leaders, there is truly no doubt that the teachers of Andres Bonifacio College carry an outstanding influence on their students.

Our teachers have given us everything in their arsenal to help us achieve the greatest things in life, and although it is part of their profession to teach, it makes us wonder if they are receiving the hard-earned praise from their students. As the National Teacher's Day approaches, it gives us a better platform to show how thankful we are for the teachers we have right now, just by showing our gratitude to them. As a challenge to all Bonifacians, comment down below and write a small thank you note to all your teachers.

BATTLE OF THE MINDS: The Illumination vs. Team Dasig

In order to encourage university-level students to foster in-depth discussions on relevant issues, the Andres Bonifacio College School of Law hosted the 2023 BONIFACIO DEBATE CUP with the theme “Government for Development” at the ABC School of Law third floor in September 26, 2023 and began the first day of the event with the first round of competition between Andres Bonifacio College represented by The Illumination Team, and Jose Rizal Memorial State University represented by Team Dasig.

Utilizing randomization tools and vetoing of the two teams; abolishment of Sangguniang Kabataan served as the topic tackled in the debate with The Illumination arguing in behalf of the negative side of the house and Team Dasig arguing for the affirmative side as a result of the coin toss prior to the competition.

It was a neck and neck battle between the two opposing sides as they lay down arguments and points with regards to the abolition of the organization. The heat was set up during cross-examinations as both teams interpellate and answer with conviction. It was close to a tie but as some points were made invalid, this allowed The Illumination to win the first round of competition and they will be competing against The Sentinels from Saint Vincent’s College Inc. today, September 27.

It's a one-hour weekly radio program, every Saturday from 7-8am and hosted by Mr. Julius Elopre (Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs) and Mr. Roseller Reginan (College of Arts and Sciences).
