[CPTCSA x NYC x LYDC x SK x DEPED x DILG]

Happening now in Dipolog City is the Rights-Based Planning, Ordinance Development, and Child Protection Training for members of the Sangguniang Kabataan, Local Youth Development Council, and the Division Federation Supreme Secondary Learner Government.

This three-day capacity-building activity, running from May 26 to 28, equips young leaders with a deeper understanding of children’s rights, youth participation, and child protection through a rights-based lens. Participants are being introduced to key concepts on safeguarding children and adolescents, particularly in addressing emerging threats such as online sexual abuse and exploitation, cyber-enabled abuse, and other forms of violence affecting children and youth.

Beyond learning sessions, participants are expected to apply their insights by crafting youth-responsive policy and ordinance proposals aimed at strengthening child protection mechanisms in their communities and promoting safer, more protective environments for children and young people.

The training is organized by the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse in collaboration with the National Youth Commission, Dipolog City Local Youth Development Council, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, Department of Education Schools Division of Dipolog City, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

With the heat index reaching 46°C in Dipolog City, it may feel much hotter than the actual temperature. This level of heat can already cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or even heat stroke if we are not careful.

⚠️ Stay alert and protect yourself from extreme heat!

• 💦 Drink plenty of water – even if you’re not thirsty.
• 🧢 Wear light and breathable clothes.
• 🌳 Stay in shaded or cool areas as much as possible.
• ⏰ Limit outdoor activities, especially from 10 AM – 4 PM.
• 🧴 Use umbrella, cap, or sunscreen when going outside.
• 👥 Check on friends and classmates who might feel dizzy or weak.

With hearts ready to serve and voices ready to speak up, they will be trained and equipped to champion child protection, advocate for children’s rights, and help strengthen the fight against online violence affecting the youth today.

The journey to the first-ever Zamboanga Peninsula Environmental Encampment 2026 (ZPEE 2026) officially begins, and in less than a month, young environmental advocates from across Region IX will finally gather for this historic milestone!

From classrooms to communities, these young changemakers are stepping forward to represent DepEd Dipolog City in a regional gathering of youth leaders committed to environmental protection, sustainability, and climate action.

The Center for the Protection and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse (CPTCSA), in partnership with DepEd, invites select DFSSLG Presidents to participate in the 3-Day Training on Rights-Based Planning, Ordinance Development, and Child Protection.

This training aims to equip student leaders with protective skills, empower them to speak out on issues affecting children and youth, and strengthen their capacity to actively advocate against online violence and abuse. One of the expected outcomes of this initiative is the development of a proposed citywide ordinance for child protection.
