It's The International Day for the Elimination of VAW! 🧡

The SVCI Guidance and Counseling Center joins the Campaign to put an End to Violence Against Women.

VAW is defined by the UN as any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering to women and girls. It is a grave human rights violation.

The National Demographic Health Survey revealed that 17.5% of Filipino women (aged 15-49) has experienced physical, emotional, or sexual violence from their partner. This highlights that VAW is a pervasive social problem right in our communities.

Tip: Start the Conversation. Help break the silenceby talking to your trusted friends, family, and peers about VAW. An open, non-judgmental discussion is vital to awareness and prevention.
