SDRRM Update | Punta National High School

As part of its continuing disaster preparedness initiatives, the SDRRM of Punta National High School received IEC Materials today from the PHIVOLCS Central Office, facilitated through the PHIVOLCS Dipolog Station by its Station Head, Engr. Florenette Garcia. Through their visit, it served as an opportunity as well for the Punta NHS SDRRM Team to tour the station's monitoring office, which houses the PEIMNET (Philippine Earthquake Intensity Meter Network) — a system dedicated to real-time seismic monitoring across the country (in this case, the city).

The received IEC materials will serve as valuable resources in strengthening earthquake awareness and preparedness among Punta NHS students and the wider school community.

This is especially timely as the national government continues to expand the AGRIDAM (Agent for Risk and Damage Management) Project for Youth — a program that engages student leaders and youth organizations as community-based disaster trainers. Equipping our students with science-based information today prepares them to take on that role with knowledge and confidence.
