A JOURNEY BEYOND THE CLASSROOM ๐ธ๐
Better late than never! Hereโs a special throwback to the Cebu Educational Tour 2026 of the pioneering batch of Andres Bonifacio College, Inc. โ Bachelor of Science in Social Work, held on May 11โ13, 2026. ๐โจ
More than just an educational trip, this three-day journey became an opportunity for our future social workers to learn, explore, experience, and understand social work beyond the four walls of the classroom.
Through meaningful institutional visits, engaging conversations, and firsthand exposure to actual social welfare settings, our students gained valuable insights into the realities of the profession and the lives of the individuals, families, and communities they aspire to serve.
DAY 1 | The journey began with visits to institutions dedicated to providing essential care, protection, rehabilitation, and support:
๐ DSWD Field Office VII โ Area Rehabilitation Center II, Home for Girls, Reception and Study Center for Children, and the Regional Haven for Women
๐ Seven Sisters in Talisay City, Cebu
๐ GAD-PYAP of the City of Talisay, Cebu
Each visit gave our students a deeper appreciation of the different programs, interventions, and services provided to individuals and communities facing various life challenges.
DAY 2 | The second day focused on organizations committed to protecting children, strengthening families, and promoting the well-being of vulnerable individuals:
๐ Restore Children and Family Services
๐ The Children of Cebu Foundation, Inc. โ Parian Drop-in Center
Through these meaningful encounters, our students gained valuable perspectives on child protection, family support, advocacy, intervention, and community-based social workโbringing classroom theories closer to actual practice in the field.
DAY 3 | On the final day, the students visited:
๐ SOS Childrenโs Village โ Talamban, Cebu City
๐ Cebu City Tour
The journey concluded with a memorable exploration of Cebu, where students also had the opportunity to appreciate the cityโs rich history, culture, heritage, and beauty.
Every institution visited, every story heard, and every experience gained became a valuable part of our studentsโ journey toward becoming competent, compassionate, and committed future social workers.
Because social work is more than a professionโit is a commitment to serve, advocate, empower, and make a meaningful difference.
Hereโs to more journeys, discoveries, and learning experiences beyond the classroom!
