The graduates savor the moment to allow themselves to feel pride in their academic achievements, but nevertheless to keep a strong balance between their pride and sincere gratefulness to all those who have helped them get where they are most especially to their loving and supportive parents.

DES Concluded the Celebration of National Women’s Month

DIWAN ES, March 25, 2024, winded up the National Women's Month celebration with the theme “WE for gender equality and inclusive society,” yesterday March 22, Empowered women as catalysts of modern society.

As National Women's Month draws to a close, it is imperative to recognize the astounding contribution of women in nation-building. This period also serves as a poignant reminder of the strength and resilience of women in shaping a more inclusive, equitable and vibrant society.

To show support for this campaign, DES organized a series of presentations that involved and highlighted the talent of female teachers which shows how empowered women are nowadays. The idea was brought by the profound woman herself, the school principal, Mrs. Venus J. Catipay.

“Empowered women we are, should always be models of strength and inspire others to stand for what is right and equal to women. Be confident and always look for ways that can motivate young minds and help them to stand just like the way you did as an empowered woman” she added.

During the event, various presentations were bestowed. Students were cheered and mesmerized by a one-of-a-kind performance they witnessed. Big thanks to our teacher performers who showed how empowered women they are.

As we look forward, the legacy of Women in contributing positive and productive society is not confined to this month alone. Every day is an opportunity to recognize their efforts and a reminder that women play a vital role in society.

Let’s all be an advocate for equality and inclusivity, together we can lay the foundation for what lies ahead that honors the true spirit of Women’s Month: A future that celebrates not just the accomplishment of women, but a future that offers equal opportunity for all.

Shaking Up Awareness: The benefit of earthquake drills in fostering readiness for young individuals

With ease and comfort, Diwan ES concluded a monthly earthquake drill earlier this Friday morning, March 22, 2023.

In a world where earthquakes can strike with no warning, giving us a horrible experience and inadequate time to prepare, readiness is not just a choice: it’s a necessity. Diwan ES untiredly conducted quarterly earthquake drills to imbue in the minds of students the danger and accouter them when disaster happens.

At exactly 8:30 in the morning, the bell rang as a signal to execute the survival technique if this happens such as “Duck, Cover, and Hold.” When the bell stopped everyone inside the building calmly and slowly took the exit and proceeded to the safe zone area with the guidance of their adviser.

During the event, the organizers prepared the actual set-up for the students to oversee the possibility of a strong quake. Rescuers and nurses were stationed and they demonstrated the possible scenario of the aftermath of a disaster.

Aisha Bin L. Abanto, the DRRM alternate school coordinator, reiterates the importance of this drill as it helps them to understand what to do in the event of an earthquake. She emphasizes also that it can dispel fear and is likely to reduce panic which is the cause of chaos more so happens in an actual quake.

The ultimate goal of this drill is to purposely inspire young individuals who are the most vulnerable to this tremor and influence them by being proactive in taking steps to ensure that they are ready for whatever may come. Furthermore, take this as a serious matter that needs to be addressed and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively when every second counts.
