56th Founding Anniversary of the Schools Division Office of Dipolog City: Commemorating Milestones, Sustaining Excellence
Dipolog City, July 3, 2026 – The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Dipolog City proudly celebrated its 56th Founding Anniversary at the SDO Lobby, DepEd Building, Government Center, Sta. Isabel, Dipolog City, bringing together education leaders, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and stakeholders under the theme, "Commemorating Milestones, Sustaining Excellence."
The day-long celebration highlighted the division's remarkable journey over the past 56 years while reaffirming its commitment to quality public service and excellence in education.
The program commenced with the registration of participants, followed by a Health and Wellness Segment, allowing members of the SDO Dipolog family to engage in physical activities and fellowship that fostered camaraderie and well-being.
The Opening and Commemorative Program formally opened with the singing of the National Anthem and Doxology. Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Rosalio B. Conturno Jr., PhD, welcomed everyone and acknowledged the collective efforts that have contributed to the division's continued success.
In her anniversary message, Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Liza R. Tabilon, EdD, CESO V, reflected on the division's milestones, expressing gratitude to all personnel and partners whose dedication has strengthened the delivery of quality education throughout the years. She emphasized that every achievement of the division is rooted in teamwork, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of learners.
The highlight of the program was the inspirational message delivered by Director II Jerry N. Mayormita, Chief of the Civil Service Commission Field Office – Dipolog City. In his address, Director Mayormita commended the Schools Division Office for cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and institutional excellence.
"One thing I have always admired in this division is that it understands a very important truth: Excellence is not a destination—it is a continuum. We see this in the way the division values its workforce through programs such as PRAISE and RACE. We see it in its commitment to ISO certification and the institutionalization of PRIME-HRM. We see it in its pursuit of digital transformation and its unwavering focus on improving the learning achievements and experiences of every child. These are manifestations of a culture that says, 'We always have to do better because we exist to serve better.'"
His inspiring message resonated with the audience, reminding everyone that genuine excellence is achieved through sustained commitment, innovation, and a servant-leadership mindset.
The commemorative program also featured "The SDO Journey," a video presentation showcasing significant milestones and accomplishments throughout the division's history, followed by a musical interlude that added vibrancy to the celebration.
An Ecumenical Mass was held to offer prayers of thanksgiving for the blessings received and to seek guidance for the division's continued mission of providing quality education to every learner.
The celebration continued with a Solidarity Lunch, strengthening the spirit of unity among personnel through fellowship and shared meals. In the afternoon, employees enthusiastically participated in the SDO Family Games and Socials, which promoted teamwork, sportsmanship, and stronger interpersonal relationships across functional divisions and units.
The celebration concluded with the Closing Program, where tokens and prizes were distributed, followed by a collective cleanup activity that reflected the shared responsibility and cooperation among all personnel.
