In partnership with ChildFund Philippines, Dipolog Pilot Demonstration School (DPDS) successfully conducted the Rollout of the Expansion of the Education for Protection and Well-Being (EPW) focusing on Self-Protection (SP) and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) for teachers on May 6–7, 2026, held at D’Hotel and Suites, Dipolog City,

The two-day activity served as an important platform in strengthening teachers’ knowledge, skills, and commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environments for all learners. Through engaging discussions, collaborative workshops, reflection sessions, and practical activities, participants gained deeper understanding of child protection, emotional well-being, self-awareness, empathy, positive relationships, and strategies for integrating SEL and Self-Protection into day-to-day classroom instruction.

A meaningful highlight of the activity was the Teachers’ Oath of Commitment, where educators solemnly pledged their dedication to upholding the principles of Education for Protection and Well-Being, nurturing learners’ social-emotional growth, promoting self-protection, and creating safe spaces where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

The success of the rollout was made possible through the guidance of the facilitators: 𝗠𝗮. 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗚. 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴, Assistant School Principal; 𝗜𝘃𝗼 𝗔. 𝗚𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻, Master Teacher II; 𝗬𝘂𝗿𝗶 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗕. 𝗡𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗮, Project Development Officer I; and 𝗡𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗝. 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘆, Teacher III, whose dedication and collaborative efforts enriched the learning experience of all participants.

Attention to all parents and guardians: The screening for the Special Science Elementary School (SSES) Program will be conducted beginning May 4, 2026. This is an important process in identifying learners who qualify for the program.

Please ensure that your child is present on the scheduled screening date, arrives on time, and is well-prepared. Parents are also encouraged to guide their children in getting adequate rest and to comply with all school reminders and requirements.

Dipolog Pilot Demonstration School proudly shares a meaningful milestone as 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼 𝗗. 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮, 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘝, and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮. 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗚. 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴, 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘭, visited its sister school, Gau Feng Elementary School in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, as part of the International Educational and Cultural Immersion Program from April 23–29, 2026.

The visit began with a warm welcome, where both schools exchanged souvenir items. Gau Feng Elementary School graciously shared tokens from their institution and the City Government of Hsinchu, while DPDS presented two personalized ukuleles bearing the names of school officials, along with Spanish sardines—a proud product and staple of Dipolog City, widely known as the Sardines Capital of the Philippines.

Principal Ho Hsin-Wei introduced their school’s curriculum, followed by an engaging school tour led by the principal, teachers, school officials, and selected students. One of the highlights was their impressive library—fully equipped with diverse learning materials and a mini-amphitheater, where volunteer parents conduct weekly storytelling sessions—reflecting strong collaboration between the school and its community.

Our delegates experienced hands-on activities using high-tech glass art machines and explored robotics lessons, where they were given the opportunity to engage with modern learning technologies.

The first day concluded with a sumptuous dinner hosted by the school officials and PTA President at a popular Japanese restaurant in Hsinchu City, reflecting their heartfelt hospitality.

On the second day, School Principal Remegio D. Gabonada and Assistant School Principal Ma. Jennifer G. Benong attended the highlight of the visit—the Annual Glass Arts Festival—an enriching celebration that highlights their contextualized innovation—glass art— integrated into their curriculum as it represents the primary industry of Hsinchu City.

The celebration opened with a formal program where a plaque of recognition from the Schools Division of Dipolog City and Dipolog Pilot Demonstration School was awarded by Mr. Gabonada to Gau Feng Elementary School, and was received by Principal Ho Hsien-Wei.

In his message, Mr. Gabonada expressed sincere gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed the value of the Sister School Project, sharing optimism for continued collaboration and the future visit of Gau Feng Elementary School to DPDS. This was followed by a welcome message from the GFES Supervisor, who warmly acknowledged the visiting delegation.

After the opening program, the delegates explored the various glass art exhibits and actively participated in the different interactive activities prepared for the festival, further enriching their cultural and educational experience.

Moreover, this activity strengthens the enduring relationship between Filipino and Taiwanese educators, fostering mutual respect, professional collaboration, and cross-cultural understanding. The sustained partnership between DPDS and GFES contributes to the development of globally competent teachers and school leaders who are innovative, adaptive, and culturally responsive.

This international immersion program serves as a concrete implementation of the signed MOA, translating the partnership into meaningful professional engagement. It provides DPDS school leaders with first-hand experience in observing Taiwan’s education system—particularly in classroom management, technology integration, learner-centered instruction, assessment practices, and school leadership systems. Through professional exchanges, demonstration teaching, and collaborative discussions, participants gain valuable insights that can be localized to further enhance teaching and learning processes at DPDS.

Indeed, this historic visit strengthens the bond between DPDS and Gau Feng Elementary School—fostering global collaboration, cultural appreciation, and a shared commitment to educational excellence.

Dipolog Pilot Demonstration School proudly celebrated the Culminating Activity of the National Women’s Month on March 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM—a meaningful gathering that highlighted empowerment, inclusivity, and the invaluable contributions of women in our community.

The program began with the singing of the National Anthem and an opening prayer through AVP, setting a solemn and inspiring tone for the celebration. Inspiring words were shared during the Opening Remarks by Ma’am Mira D. Magtuba, Master Teacher III, reminding everyone of the importance of recognizing and uplifting women in all sectors.

One of the highlights of the event was the vibrant Presentation of the Showcase, featuring performances from our Kindergarten to Grade 6 learners, SSES, and even our non-teaching personnel and Madrasah representatives. Each presentation reflected creativity, confidence, and the spirit of empowered women across generations.

The celebration also honored participants through the Awarding of Certificates for the , recognizing their active participation and dedication. A heartfelt Appreciation Message to all “Juanas” was delivered by Sir Remegio D. Gabonada, School Principal IV, expressing gratitude and admiration for the strength and resilience of women.

The program concluded with uplifting Closing Remarks from Ma’am Marigold M. Opre, Master Teacher II, leaving everyone inspired to continue advocating for equality and inclusivity.

Stakeholders and guests had the chance to watch and enjoy the wonderful performances of our talented learners, showcasing their creativity and skills developed through MAPEH and other school programs.

As a highlight of the evening, Plaques of Recognition were awarded not only to our dedicated stakeholders and partners but also to the parents of our Mr. and Ms. DPDS 2026 winners, honoring their encouragement and support for our learners’ achievements.

The program concluded with an inspiring closing message from SPTA President, Mrs. December Gay P. Carreon, who expressed gratitude to everyone for their continued cooperation and commitment to the success of our students.
