One of the greatest responsibilities of parents is to teach their children the religion of Allah. Just as many parents strive to send their children to school for worldly success, they should also strive to send them to the madrasah to learn the Qur'an, Hadith, and the basics of Islam. A child who grows up without Islamic knowledge may find it difficult to practice the religion. On the Day of Judgment, parents will be asked about how they fulfilled their trust. May Allah guide us to raise children who love the Qur'an, follow the Sunnah, and live as righteous Muslims. Āmīn.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock.(Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
This wording encourages parents to prioritize Islamic education without declaring that every child who does not attend a madrasah will become ignorant or blaming all parents, since children's circumstances and access to education can vary.
