SPAI STANDS PREPARED: Earthquake and Tsunami Drill Successfully Conducted
September 7, 2026

Safety took center stage as Saint Patrick's Academy, Inc. (SPAI) carried out its Earthquake and Tsunami Drill, giving learners and staff a chance to put disaster preparedness into practice.

The drill walked everyone through the key actions that save lives: dropping into Duck, Cover, and Hold, staying composed and attentive to instructions, then evacuating in a calm, orderly manner to the designated safe zones.

For tsunami readiness, the reminder was simple but critical — a strong or long earthquake near the coast means it's time to move to higher ground immediately, without waiting for an official alert. Shorelines and riverbanks stay off-limits until authorities give the all-clear.

Principal Leah May B. Unajan, MEM, LPT reminded the community that preparedness should be woven into everyday school life — approached with seriousness, discipline, and calm, so that when a real emergency comes, everyone responds with confidence instead of fear.

DRRM Coordinator Marissa Batas, LPT encouraged learners and personnel to take each drill as a genuine rehearsal, sharpening the reflexes needed to act correctly the moment it truly matters.

Because at SPAI, protecting one another is a responsibility we all share.

A proud Patrician moment: Krista Q. Tangliben, a Grade 11 – Business and Entrepreneurship student at Saint Patrick’s Academy, Inc. (SPAI), represented the school at the Mathematics Fair 2026 held at Maria Aurora Central School on September 4, 2026.

With the theme “Driven by Math, Powered by AI: Empowering Minds to Innovate, Adapt, and Lead,” the Mathematics Fair gave learners a chance to discover the power of mathematics and explore how technology and artificial intelligence can shape innovative solutions for the future.

Krista’s participation is a testament to the spirit of a true Patrician—curious to learn, courageous to explore, and ready to embrace new challenges. 💚💛
