CMCSC POST-ELECTION POLLS UPDATE

Initial polls from the college have determined 182 votes to push for a special election, while 58 votes push for appointments. A favorable preference for a special election has prevailed in three departments, except for UPFI students.

Polls will be open until tomorrow, June 5. The CMCSC has also provided a material that discusses the process that shall be pursued after the polls.

A child from each family, aged between 14 and 16, currently diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 (CKD-5), is undergoing continuous dialysis treatment. Their families are facing significant financial challenges due to ongoing hospital expenses, medications, and procedures.

SC ADVISORY: On Post-Election Action Steps

Following the results of the recently concluded UP Diliman elections with no CMC Student Council officer elected, the outgoing CMC Student Council is hereby to follow the provisions of the recently ratified 2025 Constitution.

To address the vacancies, according to Article X, Sec. 5-6, a general sensing must be conducted among the student body to determine the ways moving forward: either a Special Election or Appointments. A Special Election shall be facilitated by the CMC Administration, while Appointments shall be convened through the Lider Kongreso sa Maskom, formerly the Council of Representatives. With this, we ask for the student body’s utmost participation as we conduct the polls through departmental GCs. It is important to note that the insights of the sensing must be gathered and forwarded to the college administration before the end of the outgoing term.

Rest assured that all the pertinent matters of the CMCSC that need to be accomplished, documented, archived, and rendered will be taken care of to the best of our capabilities to assist and guide the future leaders of the college. Thank you.

How to vote? 🤔 You may follow these steps to vote remotely ⬇️ or visit your local precinct, which can be found at the page of UP Diliman Office of Student Projects and Activities.

1. Log in to halalan.upd.edu.ph and use your UP mail (.edu.ph)

2. Input your votes in the electronic ballot form. Note that an abstain vote means a student has decided not to support any of the candidates (for a particular position) on the ballot.

3. Once done, submit your ballot. Verify your votes by double checking your registered responses.

4. Enter the captcha code.

5. Upon confirmation, your account will be automatically logged out of the system. Your votes are final and irrevocable. Logging in again will show your ballot status.
