In 1959, Dr. Leonarda Jurado started a collection of Filipino historical garments for her courses under the Clothing, Textiles, and Related Arts (CTRA) program. The collection was intended to help students have better appreciation of and learn more about the development of costume and dress in the Philippines.
Over the years, her collection had expanded through contributions from faculty, alumni and acquaintances. Upon her retirement, the Department of Clothing, Textiles and Interior Design (CTID) took on the role of custodian. For years, the collection and its space were known as the CHE Costume Museum. It is then proposed to be renamed as the "Jurado Study Collection" in honor of the professor who started it all.
Catch the anniversary exhibition of the Jurado Study Collection on its last week!
👗 Exhibit runs until October 30, 2025

Based on artist Catherine Sarah Young’s Masks for a Warming World, this project explores innovative designs for wearable gas masks as creative responses to the climate crisis. The exhibit showcases selected works from the Climate Change Couture Workshop held on September 8, 2025, alongside pieces from previous editions of the series.
With the design expertise of ID 151 students under the guidance of Ms. Divine Albano and Ms. Aia Lopez, the exhibit will be on view at the CHE Museum from September 12 to 30, 2025.
